"We lost power to our ovens (stove and built-in microwave) just prior to the memorial day weekend (May 23rd 2008, actually I am writing this report the same day). We checked the circuit breakers and nothing had tripped. All other connections were functional so we decided to call an electrician. "One call" is exactly what it took. We are tremendously impressed with their service. The person taking the call was patient and professional, scheduled an appointment on the same day and gave a call as promised right before the technicians - Patrick and Bryan - arrived at the appointed time. They were punctual, clean, efficient, courteous, and explained everything clearly. They quickly detected the problem, gave a quote and finished the job in less than 30 mins. You can't go wrong with these guys. I will recommend them any day."

"I sent an email message to Schultz Bros Electric Sunday night, and I had a reply Monday morning.  He said he could be at my house around noon that day.  Talk about fast service!  He arrived on time, was very polite, and replaced all the problem outlets.  He also gave me suggestions about replacing the metal faceplates with plastic ones.  The work was finished in about an hour and the price was very reasonable.  I will definitely call him again for any electrical needs."

"My central AC stopped cooling downstairs. I was called when the appointment time had to be changed because of an emergency. Gabriel (who owns the company) arrived before the rescheduled time. He promptly checked the electrical system before the HVAC unit. Gabriel was indeed friendly and he provided commentary as he proceeded with his analysis and repair. (He also gave tips on how to maintain the unit throughout the year.) Before long, the work was done and my central AC was functioning as before. Top class professional."

"He seemed to do a thorough inspection, but because I am not well versed in construction jargon (both in terms of architectural features of the house as well as aspects related to maintenance/materials), it was hard for me to understand a lot of what he was talking about. My husband was able to stay focused longer but it's hard when you don't know what he's talking about and you're supposed to be taking notes on it and he's talking fast. I also wasn't sure why I was taking notes since he was talking into a tape recorder. He seemed annoyed with us for not keeping up so I just left and let my husband finish up with him. The lead inspector that came with him was very clear and explained things well. The house is 100 years old, so we had ordered most of the tests he offered. However, his report didn't indicate what tests we had ordered that were pending. Since we had talked about the tests over the phone, and I hadn't taken notes on the specific tests being done, I didn't realize the timeframe for when some of the tests would be returned (and since things were busy at the time, I lost track of what we had ordered). Thus, by the time we got some of the results back (ie, mold), we were already done with our negotiations with the sellers, which made the tests rather irrelevant. The thing I disliked most, though, was the total absence of photos from the inspection report. It makes it much harder to understand what his notes in the report are referring to, especially as there seem to be some errors (ie, notations regarding which bathroom is being referred to). I ended up having a second inspection done by someone else after we were already stuck with the house, so that we could use it to get repairs done."

FAQs for swimming pool heaters repair or service projects in Woodbridge, NJ

Replacing a pool heater costs $3,000 on average. Final pricing depends on the type of heater (gas, electric, or solar) and your pool's size. Factor for swimming pool repair costs, at an average of $3,800. When you start experiencing issues with your pool heater, other equipment and structural failures often follow. Installation is often the least expensive for electric and gas heaters. Heat pumps and solar panels often cost several thousand dollars more to install.

A pool heater’s lifespan is determined by its type and proper upkeep. Solar heaters last 20 to 25 years, electric heat pumps perform for five to 10 years, and gas heaters remain effective for 5 years. Regular pool maintenance safeguards performance and prevents premature failure. Ensuring that you adhere to a strict annual service schedule protects your investment and maintains consistent heating efficiency.

Depending on the size of your pool, location, climate, and current energy prices, you’ll spend up to $20 per hour to heat a pool using propane, $9 per hour using natural gas, and $1 to $2 per hour for a heat pump. Northern climates require more energy and can double the price. Standard estimates allow homeowners to easily estimate the cost of heating a pool for a month. Propane heaters, for example, are known to burn around 1 gallon per hour per 100,000 BTUs.

An electric or gas heat pump will take eight to 14 hours to heat a pool, while a solar heat pump takes 24 to 72 hours. Multiply the number of gallons by 8.34 to get your total pounds of water. Divide this figure by your heater's BTU rating to determine how many hours it takes to raise the water temperature by 1 degree Fahrenheit.

If your pool heater is not raising the water temperature to the desired level, the issue is caused by cold ambient conditions rather than a malfunction. The best solution is to install a solar cover that locks in heat and boosts efficiency. A solar cover costing $120 to $250 enhances heat retention, ensuring your heater performs at its peak. Additionally, verify that all settings—such as thermostat calibration and water circulation—are properly adjusted to support optimal heating.

Regular annual maintenance is crucial to keep your pool heater running efficiently and to avoid high repair costs. Investing $100 to $200 in yearly maintenance prevents issues such as excessive noise, surging energy bills, and malfunctioning controls. This proactive care not only prolongs your heater’s lifespan but also ensures reliable performance throughout the season. Always refer to your warranty guidelines to follow the required maintenance procedures.
