Our old water heater had lasted 22 yrs and wouldn't hold the pilot light on but they gave us the option of repairing or buying new; buying new meant that we needed new venting because the code had changed, as well as parts, so that needed upgrading. "We don't use them for repairs because they're too expensive. They do subsequent cleaning services. I have an older home so it was a little bit tricky. They were very professional and they were a very capable group of people. They knew how to work in the older homes around my area. They clean up after themselves and they explained all the features of our new furnace. That's an investment too. Since it is an older home, they did replace some of the duct work and they did a fine job there too. Sometimes its a little bit difficult with all the nooks and crannies in an older home. They've managed to maneuver it into the areas that we needed it. They took the time and they were willing to explain all the things that they were doing before they did and the layout of it after they did the work so we understood exactly what they accomplished. We got to choose the heating system we wanted and because of the age of our home, we had to specialty design some of the duct work that had to be replaced. They're really good. They've been around the area for years. They're very expensive when it comes to service calls and repairs. They were competitive. There are a few competitors out here. Everybody was pretty much in line. I wanted the type of furnace that they were offering. We did our research and they had the best model. With the service call, they were $80 walking in the door. The products that they sell are carbolic products, they don't have to come in often. If they do it hurts a little bit. Its  little bit more expensive when they have to come in and fix."

"I used Angie's List to find a place to take my truck for repair.  The proximity of this place to my home, the high rating, and the fact that they also offered a coupon made me select them.  I had never used this facility before.  I was there bright and early on President's Day because I had the day off and wanted to get my truck fixed as soon as I could.  When making the decision I had mentioned to several people that I had never had a repair done in one day - ever!  Whenever one takes a car to be fixed, the place may look at it that same day but it is never repaired that same day.  Well, let's just say I was tremendously impressed with how quickly they repaired my truck.  I dropped it off around 8:30 and the woman at the desk said it would be a few hours before they could look at it.  Well, I had a dr appt right after dropping it off and by the time I got home, around 10 am or so, she had called me back to tell me that someone had looked at it and what it needed and how much it would be!  I said OK to it being fixed, she said it would be done that afternoon.  It was done by 12:30 that afternoon!  Having said that, I am never impressed with how much these places charge.  Every place charges at least double for parts and fluids....and labor rates are ridiculous!  With a capital R Ridiculous actually.  However, since this is the going rate everywhere I must give this place the kudos it deserves because of their promptness.  I can no longer say I have never had a vehicle repair done in the same day.  I would absolutely go there again and have recommended the place to others.  Good job!"

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
