"The toilet needed to be replaced. I was told that I would only get the builder standard grade toilet even though I was signed up with the highest plan. The plumber was replaced my toilet with something that was definitely builder grade and not even close to what I had. I called CHOICE and they told me that it should have been replaced with something comparable to what I had. Twice they told me they were going to have my claim looked at and I have not received a call about it or any new information. The new toilet is wrong in size and specs and doesn't fit well where it is in the bathroom."

"Went very well.  Scheduled it to check for any post-earthquake damage and fire hazards.  Scheduling was easy--several weeks backlog to schedule an appointment, probably because of the Angie's List Big Deal customers, but it was not a problem at all.  Technician showed up on time and did full inspection.  While the deal also included a full sweep/cleaning, he did not need to do much cleaning because the fireplace had not been used much at all over the last year.  He correctly identified this, and confirmed no damage or potential for leaks or fire hazards.  He did some touch-up work  at the top of the chimney, adjusted/fixed the cap, and recommended at some  point doing some additional touch-up masonry work in the future, but did not try to pressure or scare us to buy any additional services.  Technician was friendly, informative, and clearly seemed to know what he was doing and talking about.  He was on time, did not rush through the inspection, and it was a positive experience overall.  Would recommend them to friends/relatives.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
