"I own a house in Federal Hill that is currently tenant occupied. The tenants alerted me that there was a gas smell in the kitchen, I called BGE and they came out, turned off gas, and BGE found two spots leaking gas, in the basement, which is under the kitchen. They asked me to have a plumber check out, asap. I went on Angie's list and received a call back from the owner of this company within 5 minutes ( it was around 8am on a weekday morning). He was responsive, informative and really cared. He was at the property very quickly and found a leak at the piping for the hot water heater and also inspected the boiler, in which he said that it was time to get it replaced, and it was leaking gas, it was really old. He showed the tenants where the gas was coming from..He cemented the piping to the wall for the hot water heater. He spent way over an hour with the tenants and another 45 minutes of the phone with me. He also inspected the range and said he thought there might be a leak from the cable (which he was right), BGE did not pick up on that one. He is very knowledgeable. The range really needed to be replaced, it was old, and I ordered a new cable/range, when Best Buy delivered, they said they could not install, so I then called the owner of this company again, he was at an emergency repair, and he came by at 9:30 that night, after working another emergency repair all day, which was a sewer line, and installed the new range for the tenants. He had to then take apart the old range and haul it away because it would not fit thru the door. I can not say enough how responsive and nice he is. He really spent time making sure I understood everything, he is also a gas fitter, so he explained all that to me. His costs are very very reasonable, I will recommend him to everyone I know. I also called him about what kind of cable I needed for the new range when I was ordering it, and he spent more time going over exactly what I needed to order and what material was best. I called him again for advise when I was interviewing HVAC contractors.

"Glenoak came out to reinstall a toilet that had been leaking . While there, they noticed a leak from the pressure tank, which needed to be replaced. They went out for the part w/o charging us for that time or travel. Unfortunately, the replacement part didn?t work, and ultimately they had to replace the entire toilet. They fixed a small gas pipe leak near our furnace while there, too.
Very professional, punctual, and competent.

"Our water heater broke down three days earlier and I initially contacted BGE Home for the repair. However they were unable to give me any idea when a technician would be available, except "some time between 9 and 5" so I cancelled the appointment and consulted Angie's List.
James, the owner of Quality Plumbing contacted me within 15 minutes and since the boiler was 12+ years old I decided to ask for a quote for replacement of the unit rather than attempt repair.
He asked me to text him a picture of the current boiler and called me back with a quote of $1,200 within 10 minutes. I explained the urgency and he agreed to do the installation that same day between 11-30 and 1pm.
At noon he arrived, accompanied by his son James, and started work. By 3 he was finished and the boiler operational. He also pointed out problems with the 20 year old flu and suggested someone who he had worked with in the past who could do the needed repair work.
Fast, responsive and high quality. I couldn't be happier.

"Sink was COMPLETELY stopped up. Service person (Doug) seemed to be nice; first emptying the sink of water, then getting out his snake to get to work. Shortly, from another room, I heard moans and groans from the kitchen. Asking what was wrong, I learned that his snake had gotten stuck and he couldn't get it out. He went downstairs to the basement to work on trying to retrieve the snake cable from the cleanout down there, below the sink. He told me that on occasion, he's had to take out pipes between the kitchen sink and the basement sewer line in order to get his cable back, and that would cost upwards of above $600. He eventually retrieved his cable, but explained that it had gotten stuck because I had allowed the buildup of years and years of grease in the kitchen, and because I was foolish enough to have a garbage disposal, which allows the grease to build. He told me he had a drain cleaning powder that I could use to keep the drain clean, and one box would cost $50. I thanked him, but refused the offer. He did make it so the water would indeed go down the drain in the sink, now, and I can use my dishwasher. He was at the house for approximately 1 hr and 15 minutes, charging $457.50. Excessive, in my opinion. It's not my fault that his snake was caught (if it really was).
Is the drain clean? Cleaner than it was this morning, yes.
Will water go down? Yes. For now.
Would I recommend anyone using Chas. Moon Plumbing? Not unless you have a healthy bank account.
Will I ever call on them again? No.
UPDATE:
Moon & Company called today (Service Manager) and graciously offered a 15% discount for the service that I had here at the house, as described above. I thought that was very nice and generous of him/the company, and promised that I would report same.
