"Our garage has had a musty mold problem for a few years and we finally just got tired of the smell and the thought that the air we were breathing, especially in the winter time, was not healthy for us. We contacted Pure Maintenance and Bryant, the owner, was very responsive. He scheduled an appointment for an inspection and was very prompt and courteous. It is always so nice to deal with service people who are professional, polite and thoughtful about their customer's time and schedules. Bryand and his team identified our problem and scheduled a convenient time to treat not only the garage but the duct work and I guess the whole HVAC system and interior spaces. We had to be gone for several hours but even when we returned the only lingering odor was a slight scent of vinegar which faded within a day. We had no reoccurrence of the mildewy smell in the garage and we feel much better knowing that the products they used are safe for us and for the environment. They were on time which is much appreciated. They went into crawlspace and wrote up an estimate. This included: clean the air w/an air scrubber set up outside. Seal all vents, remove debris, clean the mold from the wood. Install 6 mil vapor barrier and a dehumidifier. The cost of this would be $5320 including the Angie's List discount.

This would have been all well and good but the true cause of the moisture was not found. Eventually we found that the shower was leaking and that was what needed to be fixed. Water was coming from the shower floor, overflowing the bladder underneath, leaking into the crawlspace.

Had we spent the $5300 to do what they wanted to do, we still would have had a moisture problem. Two other companies did not find the problem either but they also wanted thousands to seal off. Needless to say, fixing symptoms without fixing the root cause is throwing money away.
