"Individuals representing the company arrived at our property in an Alamance Air Solutions vehicle and represented that they had an HVAC condenser compatible with our existing system and that they would install it. $700 was collected for the unit upon delivery, and payment was requested in cash. We were told they would return within a few hours with additional tools to complete the installation, but they did not return. Our existing HVAC system is an R22 3-ton system, but the unit delivered was an R410A condenser, which is incompatible with our system and cannot be installed as represented. When we opened the unit, interior components appeared burnt and heavily corroded. After discovering the issue, we requested the return of the $700 payment, but that request was refused. We have documentation including video footage of the company vehicle delivering the unit, photos of the equipment delivered, and communications acknowledging the transaction. Update as of 03/19/2026 In attempting to edit my previous review due to a response from the owner - I?d like to clarify that the recorded conversation was WITH the owner of Alamance Air Solutions admitting responsibility of the sale, delivery, & promise of installation."

"Ricky was recommended by my colleague who found him on home advisor and I’m glad I chose to go with him. He was prompt and respectful of my home and completed my AC repair that same day. He also gave me, what I think was a reasonable price, compared to some work I had previously got done with someone else a couple months ago. "

FAQs for heat pump repair or service projects in Burlington, NC

Heat pumps move air to cool or warm your home during different seasons. In cold weather, they extract heat from the outdoors and bring it inside to warm your home. In warm weather, they remove heat from your home to keep it cool. This efficient heat transfer increases indoor comfort, improves energy efficiency, and reduces the need for additional heating systems.

Replacing a heat pump costs between $4,200 and $7,900. The actual cost depends on the type of heat pump. Geothermal models are the most expensive to replace, with the price of the unit plus labor ranging between $6,000 and $20,000. Air source models cost between $4,500 and $8,000 to replace, while the replacement costs for a mini split unit run between $1,300 and $8,000.

The average heat pump is designed to last about 14 years, roughly the same as a central air conditioning system (12 to 15 years). Newer models can last 20 years or more. How long your heat pump lasts depends on how frequently you use it and whether you perform routine maintenance like annual tuneups.
