"Could not recommend more. Prices were very reasonable for install of an AC unit, and we had gotten multiple quotes before deciding on HVAC Doctor. Everything was done incredibly fast from the free quote to the install. The owner was very straightforward and honest which we appreciated more than anything. We will be using them for our hvac needs going forward and will be recommending them to others."

"Installed a new furnace for us during the winter when we needed it the most. They were able to install it 2 days after we asked for them to service our old existing furnace in which they showed us why it needed to be replaced. Quick and clean instillation with two knowledgeable and friendly employees."

"It's 8 PM, 80 degrees outside with the same for humidity, and I noticed that the temperature in the house is getting warm. After doing some troubleshooting, I found out the compressor for the A/C had shut off. I called Comfort By Design's emergency number and within minutes the technician that was on call, called me back. He explained that since the outside temperature was dropping to the 60's that evening, that maybe we should wait until morning to perform a repair, IF a suggestion he made did not pan out. So come morning, the compressor was still not working, I called their office at 7:15 and scheduled a technician to come out. Being that it was starting to get very warm and the calls were coming in, I figured that it would be late in the afternoon. To my pleasant surprise, they were at the house by 8:30, and 15 minutes later they had it fixed (it was a relay that needed to be reset). I was very pleased with the response and the quickness in which the problem was solved. I will continue to use them for my heating and air conditioning needs."

"My furnace wasn't firing up and Jim came right out to look at it. When he saw I already replaced one part while trying to self-diagnose he asked if I wanted to replace the part he found I really needed myself in order to save on installation costs and I did. He ordered it for me to pick up, gave me his cell number and said just call if I had any questions while installing. Well I screwed it up and he came out and fixed everything properly and didn't even charge for the call back. You don't get service like this anymore. I wish these guys fixed cars too! I'd hire them in a minute. I've also hired them in the past for rental properties I've had to fix things other HVAC guys could not. When friends mention they need anything heating or cooling related done I'm confidently able to say, "Oh yeah? I've got a guy.""

"Two people came the first day, a plumber and a trainee. The plumber was dressed in a dirty "wife beater" t-shirt, which was, I thought, a little unprofessional (though maybe plumbers dress that way?). They determined that the bathroom tub leak was due to a need for caulking. The plumber had to make a trip to the hardware store to get parts and ultimately determined that the faucet itself was faulty and had to be replaced. I paid $172.00 and they left. A little later that day, I discovered that there was a bigger leak in the tub. I called and told them that, even though I knew they couldn't fix the sink faucet, there was a new drip in the tub faucet and I felt like I had spent the money, but nothing had changed. The person I spoke with was very gracious and said that they wanted to make it right. They sent the same plumber back the next day. He installed a faucet (for which I was charged $68.00). I considered that fair. They also did not charge me for the service call that day, which I also thought was fair. The plumber fixed the tub problem also (though he needed to go to the hardware store again). All in all, the company finished the work and I believe the price was relatively fair. It was a hassle, though, and unless it's customary for plumbers, I thought it would have been more professional if he were cleaner."

"MN Plumbing was amazing!!!! We purchased appliances from a company who uses MN Plumbing for installations. They went above and beyond by coordinating the installation of several appliances at one time even though the company we purchased from said we couldn't do that. Michelle, the office manager, was wonderfully helpful in the coordination of everything, and their installers, Oakly and Jordan, did an amazing job of installing all the appliances and took the time to explain the operation to us. They were quick and efficient and cleaned up and took all the packaging with them. We will definitely use MN Plumbing for all our future needs!!!"

"Replacing the washing machine wall box valve went well. Dave went over what he needed to do before doing the work. Dave was very friendly and courteous. Dave arrived on time, prepared to do the work. After original task was completed Dave asked if we would like anything else looked at while he was onsite. Dave did an excellent job for a fair price."

"We have had Envirobate do two jobs for us.
(1) In the summer of 2011 we had water get into our basement and ruin the carpet in two rooms and part of a third.  There was asbestos tile under the carpet, deteriorated where tack strips had been nailed in.  Envirobate removed the remaining carpet, the tile, and the mastic for us from a large "rec room", a small half bath, and a den.  That job was approximately $1600.
Jeff came out and did the estimate for us, and when we needed it revised to include mastic removal (initially we thought it didn't need to be abated, but our independent testing service recommended it) he got us the revised estimate on the same day.  He was also able to get us into a gap in their schedule so that the tile was removed within a week and a half of the water intrusion.
On the day of the work, the crew of 2 arrived on time, set up plastic barriers at the top of the basement stairs, and connected a blower machine to one of our basement windows.  The work took the good part of a day.  They left the basement looking clean and neat, down to the concrete floor. They also left the blower machine overnight because the smell of the citrus-based solvent they used on the mastic was very strong.  (Note: when I say strong, I mean that our home smelled like oranges for at least three weeks, even with repeated moppings of the concrete floor.  I would take a sandwich to work, and when I bit into it at lunch the bread would taste like it had orange flavoring added.  This is not a criticism of Envirobate, but a note about the materials used in abatement).
(2) In September of 2012 we had a new roof put on our home, and Envirobate came out on the day of the roofing to remove an old asbestos flue from the attic and roof so the roofers could roof over the hole.
Jeff was very prompt and friendly again for the estimate, and even went down into the basement to look at the lower end (we suspected it wasn't as easy a job as it normally would be) which another contractor didn't.  Jeff also worked with us and our roofers to get someone out on the day of the job, even though we only had the job date confirmed two working days ahead of time!  The worker arrived within the scheduled window, removed the flue from attic and roof, made sure the upper end in the attic was sealed off with insulation, and encapsulated the end in the basement with a paint-like material.  (We abandoned the remainder of the flue inside the walls since it would have required tearing apart the walls to get it out). He was quick and efficient but also took the time to answer my questions.

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Castle-rock, MN

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
