"The job was expensive, but the Albuquerque Plumbing team provided us multiple options with estimates to consider. The team worked **** ** the installation and worked past 8:00 pm to complete the work so we'd have heat and hot water in the morning. We had problems with the radiant heat, and the hot water in the shower went cool, but Albuquerque Plumbing came to the house, determined the problems, and made sure everything worked properly. We had to replace the plungers and valves for the radiant heat, but they gave us a discount because they should have made that recommendation and fix during the initial installation. WE had to work through these problems, but Albuquerque Plumbing was polite, they didn't treat my wife like an idiot (which another company did), they worked hard, and the made sure everything worked right. Yes, it cost us a lot of money--the previous homeowners neglected maintenance and the system was old. We expected a high replacement cost. We both are happy with the service and will likely purchase their service contract."

"I am very pleased with the service and equipment. Patrick was prompt, did the work quickly and cleaned up afterward. His price was very reasonable and he has called to check on the system and make sure I am satisfied. I know he will be there right away if I have any problems. I had no experience with choosing a system for an older house in Santa Fe. There is no ductwork. It was heated with a wood stove. The mini split system has given me three zones in the house where I can control the heat or cooling separately. This is perfect for me because I don't have to heat or cool areas that I am not using."

"Title: Exceptional, trustworthy plumbing — highly recommended Galactic Mechanical & Plumbing exceeded every expectation. After a frustrating runaround with other companies, Jordan drove up from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, waived the trip charge, and quickly diagnosed that I only needed a faucet fixture (not a full sink). He went to Home Depot, installed the new fixture, fixed a few other small issues, and left everything working — all billed fairly for one hour of labor. Jordan was professional, efficient, and honest; Megan in the office was courteous and helpful. As a longtime local with two homes, I’m already planning to use Galactic as my go-to plumber. Highly recommend them for reliable, respectful, and skilled service. Thank you, Jordan."

"This was a big project involving replacing two HVAC package units on my roof, new stands, ducting, and new thermostats. It needed to be coordinated with re-roofing the house. So timing was critical and Air Pro needed to get a crane out to remove the existing units, then make two new unit stands and return the next day to install new units and the new stands, all in coordination with the roof work. Air Pro is a wonderful company. Every person that I interacted with from that company was very polite and professional. Jarod, the estimator, stayed with the project for the installation. Lori, at the office found the certificates for the units so we could get the gas company rebates ($300 each!). The two guys who did the actual installation (sorry that I do not have their names) were great. We went with the new Carrier 3 ton 48 VG-B 16 SEER Units. They are variable speed and so quiet! I can't even tell when they come on in the morning!"

"Free consultation and was very upfront about scope of work.  Within two days had emailed me a bid for the work.  Bid was very detailed and professional, spelling out exactly what needed to be done in what order.  Work included a pressure test of gas lines, the move and replacement of the water heater, and the final inspection.  During the initial pressure test, discovered gas meter in a location not up to code, so contacted CNM about moving it.  Installation took longer than anticipated, but stayed late into the evening to make sure heater was installed on time (left house at 7:30 pm).  We above and beyond the call of duty, but would not leave us without gas or hot water.  Very professional and a very pleasant experience.  Highly recommended.

"Alvin was careful to explain prior to starting work that if he required extra supplies, etc it would be on top of the Angie's price. Also, that there was the possibility that it would not be a simple replacement. I expected that. The replacement turned out to be more complicated than I'd anticipated.
The plumbing pipes for hose bibbs are installed between the vertical studs. There is supposed to be a horizontal cross brace that secures the "inside" part of the bibb  with 2 screws into the wood. Turns out, when the house was built in 1997, no cross bracing was added inside the wall, so the unsupported pipe had been shifting each time we turned the faucet on or off for the past 17 years. So, when he went to remove the outside portion, instead of "unthreading" as it should have,  the copper pipe broke off at the joint inside the wall. In order to complete the repair, Alvin needed to make an access port on the interior wall. He very carefully sawed an 8x8" piece out of the drywall, added a wood cross brace to the existing framing, secured the plumbing pipe to it, then attached the new hose bibb on the outside. After completing the repair, he carefully re-fitted the piece to the wall and used some caulk I had to cover the seam.
We were charged only for the difference in supplies, not for the additional time involved, which I was grateful for. I was also relieved that we had decided to have this done. I hate to think about some day going out to turn the hose on or off and have a fountain inside the wall.
I felt he handled the situation very well, explaining to me along the way what the problem was and how he would fix it.

"Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.
I highly recommend Jim to anyone that needs these type services.

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Cochiti Lake, NM

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
