"Vince told me outdoor spigot could be repaired and did not need to be replaced which saved me money. He also replaced a vanity faucet which I provided. He was quick, efficient and honest. The most important thing was he discovered a serious problem with the way my water heater was vented. The exhaust pipe had been cut wrong and glued together. It was ready to come apart and could have vented carbon monoxide into the basement. (We do have CO detectors but this is still scary) We had this water heater installed a couple of years ago by another well known local firm that I don't know if I can name here. It did fail inspection by Howard County 3 times after initial install. Failure was all related to the vent and probably should have never passed. Anyway, by pure luck it was discovered and fixed. Thank you Vince!!"

The repair person suggested to my husband that he might want to do some of the pre work to save on the cost. "Sila was great about scheduling repair visit same day. Repairman showed up early (good), diagnosed problem before he even got to the unit (bad capacitor, buzzing), had part onboard truck, and then fixed it in less than 20 minutes, total visit. Charged me $439. Cost was $149 for diagnostic/visit + $290 for replacing the part. Repair was so quick that it was less labor than would have been required for a more common diagnostic. Since doing research after the visit, I'm of the opinion that the cost was excessive -- perhaps twice what it should have been. Service was good, but I would think twice before using Sila again, say, to replace this 17 yo system down the road."
