"I had an excellent experience working with Jose and his team on a number of home improvement / repair projects: sink / vanity installation, toilet installation, faucet installation. He was responsive and respectful throughout the whole process and helped provide me with a number of different options to address various issues that came up along the way. His team was professional on the job and and did excellent work on the project. I’d highly recommend his company for home improvement solutions"

"Dirk, the owner/operator of Jamieson LLC, arrived at the specified time.  He took down the entire wall, stacked it neatly, replaced the eroded base material, and  rebuilt the wall.  He corrected the problem and built the wall better than it was prior to his efforts.  When he was done, the area where he had collected material (both old and new) was left cleaner than it was before he started.  He was determined to finish the job in one day and worked past 8PM to do so.  If there were any questions, he would stop work and wait until a final decision (mine) was made before continuing.   <br /> Based on the work and effort expended, I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.  <br />"

"Work site supervisor and his carpenters were outstanding - professional and reliable. <br />  Be careful that the contract you sign has adequate allowances for "not included" items, such as counter tops and fixtures.   They tend to ballpark the allowances on the low-end side to understate the total contract cost.   If you want higher quality items, be sure you know how much they cost.  Otherwise the allowances won't cover it...and the balance comes out of your own pocket. <br /> Do hire for basic demo, heavy construction, roof repair.  Their subcontractor for wallboard install/ceiling finish work was absolutely fabulous.  <br /> Their tile guy was rushed and pre-occupied with personal phone calls.   He also didn't do a good job cleaning the tile after he grouted it and did not apply any sealer. "

"Kris remodeled 2 bathrooms and a living room in a house we were trying to sell. We had no offers before the remodel, and it sold quickly after the work he did. One of the bathrooms was a complete tear-down, replacing the walls, wainscoting, fixtures, floor and everything. He did a very good job, and we never could have sold the house without his work."

FAQs for flooring install, repair, or refinish projects in East-canaan, CT

Removing tile flooring is a messy job. Expect flying chip fragments, mortar dust, and plenty of debris. Protect the space with plastic sheeting and drop cloths, and gear up with goggles and a respirator before you start prying. Pros keep the mess in check by attaching industrial vacuums to their tools, a setup that captures dust at the source and leaves the work zone far cleaner than a DIY approach.

Removing the old tile first is almost always the smarter play. If you tile over worn or uneven flooring, the new surface can crack, pop, or sit higher than the surrounding rooms. Fixing that later costs far more, especially if you need to re-level the floor. By demoing the tile now, you get a flat, solid subfloor and avoid surprise repairs down the road.
