Customers say: Quick response

"I had a really positive experience with Chortani. I needed a central air conditioning system totally replaced and Mongi did a professional, clean, thorough installation. He came when he said he would come, and performed the job on time and in the given time frame. The one thing that I appreciated was his honesty and integrity in performing this replacement. I have to say, Chortani did a wonderful job and I am really pleased. I recommend Chortani 100%."

"Competent, professional, expert service. They did a very thorough, neat job in repairing my unit. Replaced what was necessary and cleaned up. Plus, they kept me in the loop the whole time. Very transparent, very fair, straight forward people. I highly recommend them—plus, they contacted me the next day after the job they did for us to make sure all was well!"

"I contracted with Grant Heating & Cooling Inc. to install HVAC system in my home in the spring of 2024. They were very professional and did a very good job. In the winter of 2025 I had a minor problem with one of the Mitsubishi heat pump system units. The company was quick to troubleshoot the situation. The technicians were courteous, knowledgeable about the system and thorough. It required several visits to diagnose the problem and fix it. The manager, Nick was very responsive to the situation which required bringing out an expert from Mitsubishi. All of this work was covered under my warranty. The problem was fixed and I could not speak highly enough about the company’s policies and customer service. I would highly recommend them for all facets of their work and standing behind their installations. I am very happy to be working with them for my continued maintenance. They are an excellent company. Sincerely, Susan Coursey"

FAQs for heat pump repair or service projects in East Hampton, NY

Heat pumps move air to cool or warm your home during different seasons. In cold weather, they extract heat from the outdoors and bring it inside to warm your home. In warm weather, they remove heat from your home to keep it cool. This efficient heat transfer increases indoor comfort, improves energy efficiency, and reduces the need for additional heating systems.

Replacing a heat pump costs between $4,200 and $7,900. The actual cost depends on the type of heat pump. Geothermal models are the most expensive to replace, with the price of the unit plus labor ranging between $6,000 and $20,000. Air source models cost between $4,500 and $8,000 to replace, while the replacement costs for a mini split unit run between $1,300 and $8,000.

The average heat pump is designed to last about 14 years, roughly the same as a central air conditioning system (12 to 15 years). Newer models can last 20 years or more. How long your heat pump lasts depends on how frequently you use it and whether you perform routine maintenance like annual tuneups.
