John, the technician, provided a thorough analysis of what was wrong with my door, and gave me three repair options to choose from. The other 2 companies to give me bids only spoke of the immediate problem with the door, not taking into account that the system operating it was over 20 years old. Had I chosen either of them, my door would have been operational, but because of its age, would no doubt be in need of additional service a few years down the road. While Elite's bid was the highest, I feel confident that I made the best choice in hiring them to repair my garage door. Not only was John professional, polite, and punctual, he very patiently explained the purpose and function of all the new hardware he installed, as well as how to keep the garage door opening and closing smoothly for years to come. "The initial estimate in August 2015 went very well.  We were very pleased with the quality we were getting and the quoted price.  The company was responsive and showed up on time to give us the estimate. From that point, however, we had difficulty at times communicating.  We did not hear back from the company regarding the status of our order and possible dates for scheduling the installation. When we finally heard from them in October, they left a message for us with a date of installation. I called and left a message to confirm the date, but they did not get our message.  Once they understood the mistake, they immediately rectified by making time for us as planned.  
On the day of installation in October 2015, the lead installer showed up on time but they did not start work until about 11:00 am due to an issue with the window delivery/pick up. The installation went fine, and they appeared to be detailed and diligent in their work. However, we noticed part way through there was a mistake in the order, and one window was ordered without grids. Unfortunately, the installation went very late (they did not finish until about 9 pm) due to complications with the big picture window at the very end, which was not started until nearly 7 pm.  Consequently, they completed the work on the large picture window in the dark and cleaned up outside in the dark.  They were unable to wrap a side window that was not part of the installation, but which they agreed to wrap when we had our estimate.  We were told they would come back and finish cleaning up when they came back to swap the window out for the correct one, clean off black marks on the interior of the windows, and complete the wrapping of the additional window.  The next morning, we completed the clean up ourselves outside.  We were pleased with the installation and the quality of the windows. However, we noticed a dent in the aluminum border surrounding the big picture window above our front door, probably inadvertently caused due to the lack of visibility in completing the work in the dark.  We communicated that to the company in writing and by phone.  We were told it would be taken care of by the installer. Within a few weeks, the installer came back and installed the correct window pane, but did not have the materials to wrap the additional window or fix the dent above the front door. It has now been over five months, and we have had multiple instances when we were told the installer was coming only to either not have him show up or have him reschedule.
I have contacted the company multiple times, most recently two weeks ago, when we were told by the general manager the installer had just picked up the materials and would be contacting us to take care of it.  After more than a week, the installer contacted us to say he would be by on the weekend to take care of it. Once agin, he had not shown up or communicated to us regarding the schedule.
We were very pleased with some aspects of our experience but extremely displeased by the lack of responsiveness, the feeling of being bounced around to various members of the company, and the fact that they did not complete what they said they would or fix the dent above our front door caused by the installation. When I have spoken to the general manager or the installer, they are always very polite and  professional.  I just wish these interactions were followed up by action.  Our issue remains unresolved more than five months after installation.

"This is the first review I have ever submitted for a contractor. However, when a company offers this outstanding level of service they have more than earned a five star rating! After a severe windstorm damaged my roof, I called my insurance company and then researched / contacted several roofers in my area. As a result of so much damage most roofing companies were extremely busy. Walter Brown was the only one who had their staff working diligently to take calls, and somehow managed to fit me into their schedule even though they were inundated with emergency work. Two workers arrived as the rain started and tarped the damaged areas. Everyone at Walter Brown consistently replied to my emails and continued to stay in touch with me as we worked through the color selection and scheduling of replacing my roof. I researched brands of shingles before John Cisna came to my house to discuss the brand that they install. Finding out that they install the brand that I had found was the highest rated brand on the market confirmed that they had high standards both in the products they use as well as in the quality of work that they do. The crew who did the job was absolutely amazing, professional, courteous, and meticulous in making sure every detail of the roof was perfect. They completed the job in one day, and the young gentleman who went through the inspection checklist with me was thorough, and made sure that every detail was addressed to my satisfaction. "My roof issues stem from solar panel installation. The installers damaged several shingles, including roof vent shingles, and upon my complaint did an awful job trying to patch it. I called American Home Contractors for a survey of the damage, and they sent out Isiah, who did a phenomenal job. He wrote up a very excellent report detail all of the damage and repairs needed to bring my roof back to its original condition. He supplied me with clear pictures of everything, and took time to explain everything to me so that I could understand the estimate. I feel much better now knowing exactly what damage was done to my roof, and that I can rely on Isiah and American Home Contractors to restore my roof back to its original condition. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend AHC for your next roof repair."

"We worked primarily with Connor, Mike and Jack to have all the windows and doors replaced in our DC row home, as well as having our back doorway turned into a large bay window and former window turned into a doorway (substantial masonry work). We had a lot of questions about the masonry work beforehand, and both Connor and Mike came out to our house multiple times (once with the mason) prior to signing a contract to walk us through the process. Connor and Mike were incredibly patient and helpful as we went back and forth via email over a span of weeks to ensure that we were 100% confident in the products we ended up selecting (Sunrise Restoration windows, ProVia doors). Connor’s communication was consistently exceptional, we would always get a quick response to emails/texts/calls and were regularly updated on the status of our order (delayed due to COVID-19). Connor was even able to provide a long-term financing option at our request. Once the products had arrived, Jack arranged our install dates and set expectations for the work. AWS showed up with a large crew of 10-12 workers who were all respectful, friendly and thoughtful as they maneuvered swiftly throughout our home. Connor and Jack were present to oversee a lot of the work, though the crew needed little direction. The speed at which the team operated was impressive, and the quality of the install did not suffer as a result. Although we had purchased inserts rather than full tear replacements, some of our window frames had deteriorated and AWS replaced the damaged wood frames without hesitation. Given the small size of our home, we weren’t able to get much done while the team was working but luckily my partner and I both had work off during the two install days. During the installation we realized that one of the initial door measurements had been off, and Mike very kindly offered to order a correctly sized replacement door at no cost to us. A couple months after the initial install, Connor and Jack returned when the replacement door was ready and also inspected all the windows and doors to ensure that everything was perfect. I cannot overstate the level of dedication to customer satisfaction we experienced with AWS. As I said, this was not a small job and we could not be happier with the final outcome. Even when unexpected challenges arose along the way, Mike, Connor and Jack put our wants and needs first in determining the appropriate solution. AWS is a truly professional operation, and we’d highly recommend them to our family/friends/anyone considering new windows or doors."

"The whole process was relatively smooth. the sales person was good and knowledgeable. After signing the contract, two person crew came to measure. It took about a month and a half before windows were ready. Scheduling during the winter was a bit difficult, but it was not their problem. In bad weather, I would not want them climbing a tall ladder to install the window. Install was done professionally. We are satisfied. We would use them again.
