"First, my project was to install, from scratch, a new HVAC system, including ducting, with tha furnace in basement (initially, it was upstears in a closed). Last year and early this year, I got 3 contractors on site, by direct call, and none of them answered my spefic questions but taking pictures and promising that will send an estimate. I never got it. "They (two of them) arrived on time and did an excellent job. Dryer vent cleaning was not included in the original price but they cleaned it as a bonus (dryer vent is very small, it covers the length just across the wall). The guy was trying to push me to put UV lamps in the cooling unit and also put "organic" chemicals in the vents to prevent fungi (which were rather expensive). I guessed those were just useless gimmicks to get money, so I politely refused and they didn't press me further."
