"

Rob and his crew were great. They did everything a professional is supposed to do. They were pleasant to work with and they seemed to care about doing a good job.

They showed up on time, worked hard, did the job correctly and cleaned up after themselves before they left.

The drain repair was a nasty job. The old cast iron pipe broke right in the middle of the basement wall. They had to break through a concrete patio outside and dig approximately 4 feet down to get to the ancient cast iron drain pipe. They cut and removed the old pipe and replaced it with new PVC, including a cleanout. They also ran into issue inside the basement and had to replace more of the cast iron pipe than planned. No whining, no complaining they just did the job. Many tradesmen these days don't have much patience with old houses and their idiosyncrasies.

They did a great job and I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

"There were two men who worked on our project, one senior member and one assistant. They did a clean and efficient job switching out the old leaky faucet for a new one we bought from Home Depot. They removed the disposal unit as well and replaced the rusty and worn drain pipe and tubing with new ones. The job took the better part of two hours in a pretty confined space under the kitchen sink. We are very satisfied with their work a month later."

"I hired Rob to install a faucet for my bathtub, since for some reason it didn't come with one when I got the house. He quoted a great price, was very friendly to my cat when he arrived, and got the faucet installed quickly and cleanly. While he was here, he also spotted and fixed a small leak in one of the pipes so that the wall wouldn't have to be re-opened for a second job. I would absolutely recommend Rob!"

"I found Our Plumber to be reasonably priced and very timely in their respone and accurate in their estimate of down time. They cleaned everything up very well and left the area better than they found it. When confronted with an unexpected pipeing problem in another area of the premises the problem was resolved beautifully both reasonably and in a timely manner. Overall I was very satisfied with their performance and will consider their services in the future."

"The ARCTIC AIR Technician Brendan Fullerton did a great job in diagnosing the problem and replacing the pressure switch of our gas fired condensing furnace. He was polite, respectful, thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. He explained to us what he was doing, what he discovered upon inspecting and assessing the heater and how he was going to correct the problem. We were completely satisfied with the experience."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Highland Park, NJ

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
