"The install team led by Jeff was on time and professional. Friendly and personable. They left the job site clean when the initial work was completed. Follow up on the next day was completed in about 1/2 hour and returned the area to the original condition. We did not need to do any further clean up or adjustment. "I was prepared for an excellent experience based on these Angie's List reviews, but unfortunately was disappointed. The actual work performed was good and appears correctly done. Taylor is personable and knowledgeable, and the crew members I interacted with were nice, but I'm not happy that three days after the time promised (and two unanswered phone messages), there is still a ladder, large containers of sealant, various small tools, and a bag of garbage sitting on our lawn. These were left when they finished the job Friday; we knew the patio sealant needed 24 hours to dry, so Taylor asked if they could pick it up Saturday. Fine -- but Saturday came and went, and a call I made Sunday wasn't returned. My husband and I ended up moving all the patio furniture, grill, plants, etc back to the patio ourselves; we should not have had to do this. I'm glad now that we did, otherwise it would all still be piled up on the lawn.
The job cost was in line with what I expected. I was bothered, however, that after paying a deposit, with the balance due upon completion, Taylor asked for payment in full just days later, before the job was finished. I expect that as a small business, cash flow and employee paychecks can be tricky to balance, but it didn't sit well with me. My husband agreed to it, though, and Taylor showed up first thing Friday morning to get it. He and the crew didn't come back to start work until after 11 am that day; I was told there had been an emergency on another job.
I say that I would work with the company again, because I do think the work was of good quality and the price was fair. But I would do so knowing that I'd have to be more 'demanding' and right on top of things. I'm pleased to see a younger generation passionate about an important trade that requires both knowledge and craftsmanship, but the company's customer service and responsiveness wasn't up to par on this job.

Brick Preservation came highly recommended from a close family friend. They exceeded all expectations from the initial phone call to the completion of the work. 1 month after the job was completed I even received a follow up call to ensure that I was satisfied with the job.

The work crew was led by James himself. It was completed 2 days prior to his original estimate and the cost was just under the original quote.

The new mortar color and texture was a perfect match to the original from 1957. He was even able to reuse some of the original brick and match the replacement brick perfectly.

The work was performed safely and the crew was very professional at all times while they were at my home. The work area was kept neat while the work was performed and was spotless when he finished. (This was important to me because I have 3 young children and a large dog)

I would strongly recommend Brick Preservation to anyone who needs repair or replacement of original brick and mortar.

"They put on a roof and we had some issues with some of the shingles. John called CertainTeed and the territory manager Dan came out and CertainTeed replaced the whole roof again (no charge to us). John's company did great work and he came to my house and addressed any questions I had. They also did my siding on the house. Overall, they did a great job and I am very happy."

Bill was on time and did a perfect job with a challenging task (our fireplace exterior, being stone, is extremely uneven). He did extra work to seal the doors to the stone and it looks gorgeous! I told him the week since he fixed our damper had greatly eliminated the cold blasts that had been entering the house, and this should completely solve the problem. The work Bill did was far better than anything we could have done and it looks terrific. It adds to the value of our home and increases our comfort.

I learned that Dr. Sweep also does masonry work (such as tuck pointing and cement repairs) and I will definitely hire them again.
