"Perfectly! I was quoted 2 prices over the phone - $75 for repair if no materials were needed, $300 for repair with materials. I already knew it would be $300 - the rollers were shot. Alex set up an appointment time and called ahead and said he would be 25 minutes behind schedule, which was still well within the window he gave me. He and his partner worked quickly, explained everything to me, showed me the old rollers and that they were no longer working. My door works soooo much better and I will definitely call again if I need the door serviced in the future."

"John promptly returned my call and we set up an appointment for the next morning to have him take a look at my garage door opener which was not working correctly.  John was able to figure out immediately what was wrong and got the opener working in about 5 minutes.  Since it was such an easy fix he helped me reprogram my opener and also serviced the garage door.  He noticed that when the door was manually lifted it was quite heavy.  He asked me if I had the spring replaced recently and I said yes...about a couple of years ago.  He adjusted the spring and then oiled all the hinges.  Great job.  Highly recommend John for the great work.

"Ronnie came out to look at the job and knew immediately why the window had cracked. The price to replace it was very reasonable and the replacement was completed in less than half an hour. Ronnie also went above and beyond in explaining the different types of glass I could use and tested the adjoining windows to make sure they were low E-glass, which is what he recommended for the picture window. My only criticism is the communication with the office. It took longer than expected to get a return call."

"When Mal arrived at my house to talk to me about new siding he had a 10 page list of referrals that I could call! Mal is very knowledgeable and personable. I was also considering the company that did one of my renovation projects because I was very happy with their work. However, I felt that Mal really knew what he was talking about and I did contact 3 of his referrals who could not praise him enough. In the end Mal and his guys did a phenomenal job and paid attention to every detail. They removed aluminum siding and the underlying original cedar siding, installed an insulated vinyl siding in two styles, trimmed out the windows with aluminum, and installed new soffits and gutters. There had been a couple of remodeling projects done to my 1950 house and windows had been replaced at various times resulting in not all of them having the same trim or being set at the same depth. Mal's crew built out all of the window frames so they would all be at the same depth and have the same trim width once they were wrapped in aluminum. While they were working on the siding I asked if they could build a portico over the front porch for some architectural interest and to provide shelter from weather. I showed them a picture of what I wanted and they did a great job of building it and tying it into the house. The workers thoroughly cleaned up the work area every day. My neighbors were impressed with how thorough the guys were and the attention to details. The project took about 6 weeks to complete overall and that included weather delays and wait time for my new front door to arrive. I am very particular about workmanship on my house but Mal and his guys were patient with me, answered my questions, and explained what they were doing. My house has little insulation in the walls of the rooms I have not remodeled and the insulated siding did make a difference this winter. It has also helped muffle noise from outside.
I would not hesitate to recommend Professional Home Improvement. Their work was the best and I have gotten so many compliments on my house--it looks like new!

Their storm door product (ProVia) costs a bit more than big box storm doors but feel I got more for the money as well. Will of course know their true durability only after many years have passed but product certainly looks and feels sturdier than my old Larson doors which themselves weren't bad."

"There were three contractors involved in the rehab of our front entrance: Murphy’s Windows & Sunroom for the entry door and staining, The Steam Whisperer for the radiator and Ardrahan Woodworking for the bench. Murphy’s was the lead contractors but all did an outstanding job; as they each not only exceled at their individual tasks, but worked well with each other to ensure a timely finish to the project and minimal disruption to the running of our home. This was critical we have a preschooler and I run a design business out of the house and have clients come through the front door daily! We knocked out the closet and fixed the plaster ourselves so the craftsmen had a clean slate to work with. A cast iron radiator was added to the room to heat the room, but as the walls in this room were not insulated – therefore, the door needed to allow for temperature control between the entry room and the living room. Ardrahan Woodworking built the bench with slots for shoes and to allow heat to circulate from the new radiator. A drawer was added for function, as well as hooks for guests’ coats. (Ardrahan also did their own staining of their own work) Murphy’s then came and installed the pre-hung door they helped me select to fit our purpose. Their craftsmen took a full day to custom build the new trim to match the adjacent door – the match of style was perfect. Finally, Murphy’s sent their stain guy to match the stain – a true artist – as the crown molding in the front entrance was a few shades darker than the living room. So to make the best match he stained the two sides of the door to match the side they are on – and did both sides dead on color! The space is now warm (temperature), open and welcoming. It is everything we hoped it would be and more! All three contractors came in on time, one budget and exceeded our expectations in craftsmanship!"
