"James and Matt did a fine job in removing my 32 yr old A/C and installed a new Amana A/C today. The A/C is running now, but I cannot hear it. That's nice !! They are both knowledgeable and friendly to work with. Matt did the outside work and might have gotten sun burnt on this 90 degree sunny day, but did not complain ! I am very happy with his workmanship too. James worked inside and installed the evaporator in the furnace plenum with a drain cleanout system that is pretty neat to see. Both areas were cleaned up after the work was done. Thank U ! I would use Maxx Air again."

"J Brown mechanical (Jay at J Brown mechanical) is: knowledgeable, passionate, considerate, along with kind/honest in his work. He does what is best for his customer, not what is best for his pocket book. We had a previous company charge us $100 for a call, to only tell us we needed to spend 6k on a new furnace--leaving us cold with a few weeks wait for his services.. My husband called Jay and he was able to fix the furnace for less than $300. The other company only wanted a big sale.. Jay fixed our furnace that day (it is still working), buying us time to save to replace our 20 yr plus furnace.. He will let you know the honest pros and cons of doing one thing or another--he is as I said extremely honest and knowledgeable. His prices are fair and he will try to do what he can to stay within your budget. Jay is the type of business person you want to do your job. One that not only know his stuff. but will watch out for your interest. I have another heating and cooling job, and I have hired Brown Mechanical once again. Jay and his team are awesome!!!!! "Of course the A/C quits on the afternoon of the 90+ degree day! Fan and compressor were not working, but indoor fan was, meaning either a capacitor or contractor issue in the outdoor unit. Called office 10 minutes before they were done for the day, but was able to confirm a repair appointment for first thing the next morning. Technician (Sean) was here at 8 am, and after a 2 minute discussion and check, confirmed that capacitor was the issue. Still under warranty from Bryant, so that was a plus, but I was surprised that there was a failure after only 3 years since last unit ( also a Bryant, nd installed by AC Engineers after house was built in 1997) never had a problem for the 17 years we had it until replaced with the higher efficiency unit. The interesting comment from the technician was that he would likely replace 5-6 more capacitors that day (!!!!!), not tied to any particular brand of unit, but more because all the manufacturers use the same capacitor from the same source, and "they literally don't build them like the used too". Rather illuminating - In addition to the capacitor fix, he did a full service check of the system. Excellent job, responsive and knowledgeable."

"Because we had to coordinate the service call with a temporary shut-off, of the water, by the city timing was important. Mr. Hairston and his apprentice Gary arrived within approximately 15 minutes of our calling them, once the shut-off had occurred. They explained to us what work would be done and took approximately 35 minutes to complete the job. Before completing the work we were told that it was 'ok' to call to have the water restored. That meant that we were able to spend less time waiting for the city to come back out. As we had read in other reviews before, the area worked in was cleaned at the completion of the job. Mr. Hairston offered to send our receipt via email and was willing to accept whatever form of payment we wanted ( cash, check or charge). He invited us to contact him if anything else needed addressing. He was pleasant and polite as was Gary his apprentice.

"The repair person, Keith, came a couple weeks ago and had to order the defroster for the refrigerator.  The part was delayed coming but the technician came back once (without charge) just to manually thaw out the coils so the refrigerator would continue to cool properly.  The part was installed today and the refrigerator runs great.  He explained what was going on, exactly what it would cost, and tried to keep me informed as to the part's arrival and installation.  I would definitely recommend their services!
