Alex set up an appointment time and called ahead and said he would be 25 minutes behind schedule, which was still well within the window he gave me. He and his partner worked quickly, explained everything to me, showed me the old rollers and that they were no longer working. My door works soooo much better and I will definitely call again if I need the door serviced in the future."

"John promptly returned my call and we set up an appointment for the next morning to have him take a look at my garage door opener which was not working correctly.  John was able to figure out immediately what was wrong and got the opener working in about 5 minutes.  Since it was such an easy fix he helped me reprogram my opener and also serviced the garage door.  He noticed that when the door was manually lifted it was quite heavy.  He asked me if I had the spring replaced recently and I said yes...about a couple of years ago.  He adjusted the spring and then oiled all the hinges.  Great job.  Highly recommend John for the great work.

This was my second time using LDS renovations; both experiences exceeded my expectations. Previously, LDS replaced a kitchen window and repaired some rotten exterior wood surrounding two other windows. Most recently, LDS replaced three rotten window sills and the surrounding wood trim. I contacted them, through their website, to request a quote for the repairs. I received a call back the same day to set up an appointment to get the estimate. Ronnie came out as scheduled (actually, he was early which rarely happens with other contractors). He inspected the areas to be repaired and told me he would email me a quote. I received the quote quickly and his estimate was in line with the other companies I had checked with. I scheduled the work and Ronnie and his crew showed up on time and finished the work quickly and did a fantastic job. They could have just replaced the wood and been done, but Ronnie went the extra mile to use composite for an area especially prone to getting wet and treated additional areas to extend the life of the repairs. Ronnie was a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and takes great pride in doing the best job possible. I would not hesitate to use LDS renovations again in the future should the need arise.

"There was a long delay (several months, all told) to get the work done, thanks to the rush of pandemic home improvement projects. But I appreciated that the staff from McCann were communicative and did their best to estimate when things would be done. When I got the call that my custom doors had finally arrived, they were able to install next day! Which was great timing as it was installed just before a long cold snap. The new door and storm door are great - so well sealed that not only are there no drafts, but there's so much less noise coming in from the street. The installers were polite and respectful and did a great job, including matching the color of the interior caulking to the tile floor in our entryway perfectly. My only complaint is the interior framing was a little dirty and banged up, though they provided touchup paint that I used to clean it up."

"Our home is a colonial about 50 years old, and the sad aluminum siding on the second floor was showing its age. I contacted four siding firms for quotes. All but one on Angie’s List, and all were rated highly. We settled on Professional Home Improvement not because of price, but because of the detail and depth of knowledge with which Mal Graifman presented in his proposal. The job involved siding, soffit and fascia, new gutters with leaf guards and oversize downspouts. In his walk-around, Mal noted that we had insufficient venting in the eves, and too few downspouts for the length of gutter runs. He even noted that the service door to the garage (which we never use) detracted from the appearance of our home. In conversation with Mal, it was easy to see that his construction expertise and grasp of the aesthetic was based on years of experience and solid common sense. Not only that, but this guy is really fun to work with. Mal’s team arrived and began work on the south side of the house. Old siding was removed, any questionable substructure was replaced, and windows were built out for high definition per Mal’s suggestion. Foil faced underlayment was installed with Tyvek House wrap. Sixteen foot 0.046 vinyl panels were used to minimize seams. Aluminum soffit, fascia, and porch ceiling were installed. Old ornamental iron columns were replaced with load bearing square columns, and a new insulated steel garage service door was installed. Although we did not discuss it, Mal’s team redid the aluminum capping on the first floor windows and added aluminum trim around entry doors. Mal’s philosophy was not to shortcut on the appearance of the home. Mal’s craftsmen worked tirelessly and always with concern for the neighbors. Every particle of scrap was removed at the end of each workday. Mal periodically checked their progress and quality of their work, so there were never any fire drills or questions about what needed to be done. I was so impressed with the quality of the job, I gave each installer a case of beer during final cleanup as a gesture of thanks. It all comes down to the notion that if you are going to invest in the appearance and functionality of your home, do it right the first time.
