"I spoke with Mike and sent a picture of the problem I was having with our thermostat. He assured me that they could handle it while others I spoke with were unsure if they could do it or not. He confirmed for 8:30 the next morning, called me 20 minutes before Dan showed up and did a terrific job. My wife was home with him and said he was professional, knowledgeable and extremely nice. We’re so please that we’re having them assess our A/C unit come the spring. Highly recommend!!"

"ira was very thorough in his examination of our basement. He took the time to explain what he was doing and the results he found. He was very professional. He is also a home inspector and took the time to show me where all the shutoff valves are for water, gas and heat. His rates are very affordable. I would use him again, and I highly recommend him."

"A lot of folks say they donâ  t normally leave reviews and they do this time either out of extreme discomfort or appreciation. Iâ  ll join the band. My first review of all time. These folks not only did the job how it was meant to be, not how I asked for, but also came back at no cost for a correction at a very short notice and they aced it. They are a testament to Integrity; Doing the right thing even when no one is watching. After having two home gutted out and redone, I can say with confidence that they are by far the most professional company I worked with. Jacob handled and oversaw the project. Real difference lied with his personal touch. He is the best I could think of for the job. Make no mistake, if you think all this comes at a premium, it doesnâ  t. They also provided the best value on the continuum of delivery and cost, by a long shot. Do I recommend them? Hell yes. It will be the best decision youâ  d make if you need to improve insulation in your house. A special thanks goes to PS&G for vetting them as an approved contractor, which is how I got a hold of them in the first place."

"We had purchased a de-humidifcation system for our basement through Frank Petrullo a few years ago.  Once installed, gone were the days of having to constantly empty the bucket from our old stand alone unit.  The new system was operating without a hitch until suddenly, it ceased functioning.  We called Eco Green and explained the problem.  Frank made sure that a service appointment was scheduled promptly.  We didn't have to wait around for the technician to arrive as he came to our home as scheduled.  The problem was identified - the culprit was our cat, who had taken a liking to the  tubing and had managed to damage the system.  There was little doubt in the technician's mind as to what had happened since our cat was kind enough to attack the unit in his presence!
The Eco Green technician devised a solution to protect the unit from our cat allowing our unit to resume functioning and keeping our basement dry.
We are very happy with the customer service and attention that we have received from Eco Green and gladly recommend this company.

"The service was excellent! I had gotten an estimate earlier this year and Mr. Jacinto remained true to his word. They arrived earlier than the scheduled appointment time (which I appreciated) due to a forecasted rain storm. They were quick, cleaned up afterwards and I even got to view the finished project. In addition, Mr. Jacinto sent me the before and after pictures of the attic. He is very detail oriented and explained everything to me. Also, pointing out the trouble spots in the corners of the house, which he filled. The service exceeded my expectations and was a very good home improvement experience!"

"We were trying to sort out electrical issues as part of a home inspection, and Mister Sparky provided an estimate for service that was actually unnecessary.  Thus, we went with another company that accurately diagnosed the issue and gave an estimate."

"The crew arrived on time and were neat and clean. Approximately a few weeks later I felt some drafts still so they came back and fixed somethings they had missed. Still, a few weeks later I didn't feel like any of the insulation they added was making a difference. My furnace was still running the same amount of hours per day and I still felt cold in my house. I spoke to a supervisor who was very receptive and came out to the house to take a look. We surveyed the house together as he took temperature measurements at different locations which revealed the house was still cold and drafty in spots they had put in insulation. He put in a work order for the crew to return and correct the problems. When the work crew came back a month later I wasn't home but my wife was. She called me asking me where they should go since they told her they weren't sure what they were there for. After conferring with the office and having the supervisor show up to my house they began to work. My wife told me they were there briefly and whatever work they did everything still felt the same. I called the office and again spoke to the supervisor who said at this point the weather is a lot warmer and for him to try and get readings to measure the temperature it would be fruitless and he suggested they come back in the fall when the temperatures drop. At this point I am feeling pretty frustrated and feel like I spent a lot of money and my house is still extremely drafty and very cold. I will say that every time I have called the company has been very receptive and seems genuinely concerned with my complaints. They have tried to remedy the problem and I'm hoping when I call back in the fall we can finally get this taken care of once and for all."

FAQs for home energy audit projects in Little Neck, NY

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
