Of all the home improvement companies who have worked on many different jobs at this house in six years, Madrona takes the cake for providing the best quality work and amazing customer service. Madrona was the only company who gave us a thorough plan to not only put insulation in the attic but also to improve ventilation and ensure all roof penetrations were properly sealed. They added 1300 ft of R-44 blown fiberglass insulation over existing rock wool insulation that was fine but inadequate, to bring it to R-49. They fashioned a new wood access panel to the attic with a huge covered batt of fiberglass insulation fastened on the upper side and it feels like opening a secure air lock on the rare occasions where we've looked up into the attic. After they sealed all air penetrations in the attic they were very happy to show us what they did before adding the insulation. They installed insulation shield around the chimney, six roof jacks for proper venting, and vented kitchen and bath fans to dampered roof jacks, insulated with R-11 fiberglass batts. Four years later, the attic looks fantastic - there is no sign of any moisture and the blown in insulation looks as fluffy and lofty as when it was newly installed. I mistakenly thought one of the bath vents had been filled with insulation foam, causing the fan to not work very well, and Madrona sent someone out the next day even though the job was completed four years ago. Curt investigated and then politely and patiently explained that the side vent had been replaced with a better roof vent. And indeed, the fan was blowing air through the roof vent they installed and it is the old fan that is the problem, not Madrona's work. It would be wonderful if all companies stood behind their work this way."

"Classic Pest Control and Insulation is fantastic to work with. We dealt with many other companies and contractors as part of a bigger project, and Classic was clearly the best. We called them in after checking out some other companies. They were by far the most knowledgeable and professional and did the best work. We originally hired them to remove and reinstall our attic insulation as part of a bigger project (mold remediation). However, we ended up hiring them to take care of our crawl space and pest control when another well-known company failed to follow up and complete the job properly. They removed, cleaned, reinsulated, and provided pest remediation for both our attic and crawlspace. Everyone I dealt with from the office staff, manager, estimator, installers, and pest control tech was courteous, organized, and very knowledgable. "It was wonderful, very professional, and went way beyond what I expected. I got 3 bids last summer to replace my single-pane windows. I chose Einar Johanson because the rep, Doug Tuft, explained things the most clearly, explained why my slider to the balcony barely worked, and had a very good price,about 8% under the other bids. I appreciated how clearly he explained the different options, and when I called/emailed, he got back to me promptly. <br> <br> <br>Because I live in a condo and EJ was not the preferred provider, I had to go through the board of the condo to get permission to use EJ. There was some confusion and misinformation from the manager of the condo, and in the end, after emails back and forth, a staff member of EJ came to a board meeting to explain how they would install the windows. The confusion was cleared up, and in January the work was done. A second measuring was done for the windows, and when they installers came, they were quite professional, very clean, and finished the work in one day! Although I was told I may need to put some touch up paint on the outside walls, I don't think it needs to be done because the installers were so professional. I love my new sliding door and windows, and my condo is much less drafty!"

"John the VP of sales for ATFOAM provided clear communication from start to finish. He explained what product would be best for our needs more clearly than the other quotes we received. The spray foam crew did a great job and left the site very clean after the work was completed. I’m sure this was a smaller job for them but I felt like my business was important and handled very professionally. We paid a bit more for premium spray foam but it’s well worth it knowing it’s good for the life of the building! Now we’re able to enjoy our shed with the changing seasons and host football nights. "I had renters in house in front of me who threw garbage off their deck, had large dogs...never cleaned up messes, garbage and junk littered the yard, etc.  <br /> I started having rat problems and when the pest control rep. came out and went under the house and attic, he said I  needed to have both areas cleaned out because of all the rodent feces, etc. there. I had one estimate done but wanted another one so I <br /> checked Angie's list for companys that cleaned out crawl spaces and attics.  I read all the ratings and comments of people having hired these companies and chose Miguel's company, STANDARD INSULATION AND REMOVAL , INC. because of the comments made by people who had hired him. <br /> I called him right away and he came out early the next morning and gave me 2 estimates...one for the crawl space and one for the attic as I requested.  (I showed him  the first estimate and asked for an estimate for the same work)  I blanked out the name of the first company.  He gave me the estimates and explained that he used products that were as good or better and explained the procedure for removal and installation.  He answered any and all questions I had...I tend to ask lots of questions.  (His estimate was about $2000 cheaper than the first estimate) <br /> Miguel and his co-worker were out every morniing by 8am and worked all day until about 5pm.  They worked  long and hard in miserable cold, wet weather.  <br /> I can't say enough about the work ethic and professionalism of Miguel and will recommend his company to anyone who asks for a recommendation.  <br /> My house was built in 1979 so the insulation rating was only R-15.  The drastic increase in the insulation should make a big difference this summer...if and when it gets hot... and of course the heat bill should show some difference too."

"I had Charlie come out to my condo today to perform an energy audit, as we have issues keeping our condo warm in the winter, and it gets hot and stuffy in the summer.
