"It's 8 PM, 80 degrees outside with the same for humidity, and I noticed that the temperature in the house is getting warm. After doing some troubleshooting, I found out the compressor for the A/C had shut off. I called Comfort By Design's emergency number and within minutes the technician that was on call, called me back. He explained that since the outside temperature was dropping to the 60's that evening, that maybe we should wait until morning to perform a repair, IF a suggestion he made did not pan out. So come morning, the compressor was still not working, I called their office at 7:15 and scheduled a technician to come out. Being that it was starting to get very warm and the calls were coming in, I figured that it would be late in the afternoon. To my pleasant surprise, they were at the house by 8:30, and 15 minutes later they had it fixed (it was a relay that needed to be reset). I was very pleased with the response and the quickness in which the problem was solved. I will continue to use them for my heating and air conditioning needs."

"My furnace wasn't firing up and Jim came right out to look at it. When he saw I already replaced one part while trying to self-diagnose he asked if I wanted to replace the part he found I really needed myself in order to save on installation costs and I did. He ordered it for me to pick up, gave me his cell number and said just call if I had any questions while installing. Well I screwed it up and he came out and fixed everything properly and didn't even charge for the call back. You don't get service like this anymore. I wish these guys fixed cars too! I'd hire them in a minute. I've also hired them in the past for rental properties I've had to fix things other HVAC guys could not. When friends mention they need anything heating or cooling related done I'm confidently able to say, "Oh yeah? I've got a guy.""

"Overall, it was a very good experience. The only problem was that he arrived an hour late. I had that some experience with this company last year, but liked their work and price so decided to give them another chance. He said that he had to get gas and that the traffic was bad. On the other hand, he was so helpful and went beyond what I had originally called him for to make sure that all the drains in the bathroom were in good working order. He replaced the bathtub drain because it had gotten corroded. He was very pleasant to work with. The price charged by this company was very reasonable."

"We smelled a gas leak around our stove.  Centerpoint technicians confirmed, but could not pinpoint the exact location because they did not pull the stove out.  (They said it was too heavy.)  They shut off the gas and said we could not use the stove until we got it fixed.  But they could not provide any suggestions on whom I should contact for the repair.

When I called MN Plumbing & Appliance, I was frustrated.  I had already called several other companies -- Sub Zero-Wolf (manufacturers), Wolf's one certified service and repair company in the Twin Cities, a gas pipe installer, and several plumbers -- none of which said they could for sure do the repair, because I did not know if the leak was in the gas range, or somewhere else.  One plumber was too busy, and one plumber, though super helpful, did not think he could pull the stove out on his own.

The receptionist at MN Plumbing & Appliance was not sure they could help either, but she had me call one of the owners directly to ask. Scott listened, and said he probably could do the repair -- so long as the leak was not in the range.  He answered my question about his rates, which seemed reasonable.

Scott was not available until two days later, but when he came over, he got the stove out no problem, and quickly located and repaired the leak, bringing the gas connection up to code.  He is professional and experienced, and I would call him for future plumbing needs.

Everything went well.  No more gas smells, and we can use the stove now. The only thing that I was not completely satisfied about -- though it turned out not to be a huge deal -- was that Scott had told me over the phone that I should ask for two people to come over from MN Plumbing to make sure they would be able to move the range.  I made that request to the scheduler, which is why it took two days to be able to get an appointment.  There was no one available to come with Scott earlier.  But then, somehow, only Scott was put on the schedule to come over to my home.  He was able to move the stove on his own, so it didn't matter.  (And I suppose it saved me money because I then paid for only 1 person's time.)  But if he had been unable to move the stove, it would have wasted all of our time. And, if he were coming on his own anyhow, we could have gotten the stove fixed sooner.

Still, I am happy the gas leak is fixed.  And I appreciated Scott's willingness to try to fix the leak even though we didn't know exactly where it was.

"We had an emergency repair of our AC that turned into a full system replacement. The team was quick to come out, assess the situation, was able to get parts in and also explained options. Ultimately it made the most sense to replace the system and they were able to come and quickly assess what was needed from an AC system for my home and were actually able to complete the install the following day - was expecting at least a week of lead-time on a new install but they had availability right away! A huge relief to my family and I. Pricing felt reasonable with incentives. Work was done quickly, workplace was clean, team communicated well throughout the project.
