"My wife and I have been staying in our camper for the past 4 months due to our air conditioning unit not functioning. We contacted Climate Services of Texas and the lady called me back and said that Cory would be out to assess our situation at 9:00 that evening. I was surprised that anyone would come out at that time of evening. Cory called and verified the appointment and stated that “he wants everyone to be comfortable”. He called me on his way to our residence, letting us know he was coming. Cory was very polite and professional. He took his time assessing the problems and discussed the options available for repairs. Unfortunately, our unit was beyond repair and we required a replacement system. Our unit was pretty much antique. Cory and his company assisted us in arrangements for the necessary replacement of the unit. The company personnel were professional, polite and arrived at the scheduled time. They worked through the heat and did a professional job. If I ever have need of heat or air service I will definitely use their services. I will recommend them to anyone. Climate Services of Texas 501 W Avenue G, Conroe, TX 77301 (936) 441-3755"

"Excellent service from John Moore! This review goes across the board to capture all those involved from the initial call for service to the final step of installation/replacement. We’ve used John Moore Services for several things in the past three months and once again they did not disappoint. Great customer service, pricing, speed and efficiency in installation! Highly recommend!!"

"Cannot recommend these guys enough.  Our AC started cooling poorly (couldn't get it below 80 degrees) due to leak in evaporator coil a couple months after moving in to our house.  We had a home warranty so tried to work through it with their contractors, which went awful.

After deciding to pick our own company, we saw how great the reviews were for The AC Guy and gave them a call.   They came out, and agreed that the coil needed to be replaced and gave us a quote for just replacing the coil, or for replacing the whole system.  There prices were upfront and very reasonable, no bait and switch with a bunch of up charges later. Our home was built with an undersized system and was approaching 11 years old, so we decided to get a full replacement and upgrade to full 5 ton unit (we had a 3.5 ton condenser).

I called Rachel back the next day (Saturday) and told her of our decision.  They were busy on emergency calls, so to get a new system installed they couldn't come out early the next week.  But she did have a technician stop by and give our current R22 system a charge (at no cost!), and that thankfully helped the house cool down over the weekend until they could replace the system.  The tech was on time, profession, and polite.

On the day they came to replace our system, once again they were on time, profession and courteous.  They cleaned up after themselves and left the house in good condition.  AC works great, much better than it did even when it wasn't broken.  Can now keep the house on 70 degrees and it doesn't even have to be running the whole time vs previously it ran constantly and couldn't come close to getting the house that temperature.

Rachel also helped us with getting itemized receipts showing what the work would have be for just the evaporator coil replacement, since of course the home warranty companies never want to pay fair prices.

Overall, I highly recommend this company. Honest people doing honest work.

"Ray’s team was fantastic. I waited a month to write this review because I wanted to see how the new equipment held up. Everything works great! They managed to get the entire installation done in a single day and completely cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely use them again!"

"On the day of the work (4) workers came on time and proceeded with the work. They were very professional and covered the floor and the stairs leading to the attic.  They too answered all my questions about  what they did. They showed  me the old evaporators coils and the leaks in them, and the new were still in the original box. They replaced on of my thermostats and  fixed a noise coming from my outside unit .  Although,  I had a second estimate on this work that would have been less, I went with Cucco,s because I trust their work and their professionalism. Honestly, it is so hard to fine honest people these days working with them is a pleasure.

"Very fair price to replace leaking freon from older downstairs unit as well as quote out a replacement that we knew we were going to need this year based on Kelly’s assessment last year when he serviced the equipment."

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Montgomery, TX

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
