"Steven came as promised & after checking out my unit, gave me an estimate of two choices I could go with along with the prices of both. No pressure as to which one I choose as he left & waited for my call. Once I (my husband) decided for me which one, I then called Steven to inform him. He came over to collect my deposit (I'd paid him in full as I only had one signed check from my husband. Yes, I did that! Knowing I could get live to regret it like when I did the same on the two guys that came to fix my fence - SMH - should have learned - right?), sign the estimate form & he left. He DID return with help & my parts. Went right to work & finished within the hour (actually it was less than that as he was letting me know as to what to expect with the smell & all, plus we'd discussed moving the unit further on down the line if need to replace. (My choice in the beginning - humm). He did leave what he'd replace per my husbands request with no problem. I have already sent recommendations."

FAQs for heat pump repair or service projects in Newberry, SC

Heat pumps move air to cool or warm your home during different seasons. In cold weather, they extract heat from the outdoors and bring it inside to warm your home. In warm weather, they remove heat from your home to keep it cool. This efficient heat transfer increases indoor comfort, improves energy efficiency, and reduces the need for additional heating systems.

Replacing a heat pump costs between $4,200 and $7,900. The actual cost depends on the type of heat pump. Geothermal models are the most expensive to replace, with the price of the unit plus labor ranging between $6,000 and $20,000. Air source models cost between $4,500 and $8,000 to replace, while the replacement costs for a mini split unit run between $1,300 and $8,000.

The average heat pump is designed to last about 14 years, roughly the same as a central air conditioning system (12 to 15 years). Newer models can last 20 years or more. How long your heat pump lasts depends on how frequently you use it and whether you perform routine maintenance like annual tuneups.
