"On January 3rd this year, 2022, Standard & Heating replaced my furnace and the humidifier. I was extremely pleased with the entire process and all the people throughout. They did a great job identifying the need for a furnace replacement, explaining the pros and cons of the alternatives. They identified various discounts or rebates available to me and made the process easy for me to select the right choice for me. The installation process went great. They arrived on time, kept me informed throughout, and answered all my questions throughout. I could not be more pleased, and recommend them highly."

"I was very pleased with HVAC Doctor. Very professional. Great customer service, from first contact over the phone, the estimate and installation of our new air conditioning unit. Very knowledgeable. Employees were very respectful of my home. Quiet and courteous as they installed the air conditioner. Will definitely have them do work for me again."

"Responded quickly to come out and diagnose our furnace that had just died. After speaking with the dispatcher a technician arrived at our house within 30 minutes. Being that it was going to be about 17 degrees that night the technician left us with two space heaters to hold us over until we could get the furnace replaced. Two days later a crew came out to install the new furnace. These guys were excellent, one of the best crews that I have ever worked with leaving me with a great deal of confidence that the job was done right. From the initial call, the receptionist, the dispatcher, the technician, and the installation crew left me extremely pleased that I made the call to Aquarius and plan to use them in the future."

"They've been through here on several occasions.  We had our water heater die, so they did the water heater and they hooked it up and everything, and they sent the same guy again.  When we bought the water heater we got a couple of quotes.  We really, really liked the guy who came in and he also installed, but we were real impressed.  We really liked the guy we worked with; I mean he was really knowledgeable, you could tell he knew his stuff.  And so we said we will go with you if you are the one who installs and he said okay.  Well then they called us and they're saying 'so sorry, I can't make it, double booked or whatever, so we're going to send, let's say the next guy's name is Bob.'  Well, we went ahead with you because we were going to use you.  Tell us about this new guy.  Is he any good?  Yes, highly recommended, very good - all this stuff.  And so we go well, okay, based on your recommendation because we were talking to the guy who promised to come.  Nope, not him - somebody else - not even the second guy who was promised.  So he comes - he did an okay job installing, except we can't get any hot water after he leaves.  And it turns out that he had put it on - or it was on when it arrived, whatever  -  on vacation hold.  There's a knob downstairs but we didn't know.  And also, when you get a new water heater, new things, a lot of times they'll sit and explain some things, like here's your paperwork.  Nope - the guy's just done and he left.  So we go look and we don't have any hot water.  So we finally call late that night because the guy says it'll take about 45 minutes to heat up.  Well, two hours, four hours, we finally call and the guy had it on vacation so it was heating at like 70 and it's supposed to be a minimum of 120.  So we had to call and they walked us through what we needed to do.  That wasn't so good.  That's kind of B & D in a nutshell. It's like they have some really good people and some really bad people.  We had a good quote, we liked the salesman, but they did not follow through on the promise of sending that guy or the next guy, and then the guy who was there didn't set it up properly.  But then on the positive, when we called 10 or 11 o'clock at night,  the guy was able to nicely help us walk through and find out what the problem was, and we fixed it.  So it was nice that they were available.  There's been some times when they've been amazing - good; we had B & D install our sink when we remodeled our kitchen and the guy was awesome, he did a great job.  But then we had a leak in our tub that we had worked and worked, couldn't figure it out.  And the guy who came, he's the one who we said don't ever send him back.  They guy sat on our tub and had us run around the house while he turned the water off and on.  I'm like, wait a minute - shouldn't you be looking for the leak because you're the plumber and you're the one who knows what to look for?  So we thought that was weird.  And then he finally, when it's all said and done and he's been sitting by the tub the whole time, turning the water off and on, he says, well, I don't see it.  It doesn't appear to be leaking.  The next day, we have a closet that you open it up - we store blankets - and it's also got the panels to get to the back of the shower.  Right?  Well my husband was looking for something or we were in there trying to figure it out ourselves and he had a flashlight.  And it was later, because normally I think we're doing it during the day, but it was a little bit darker and the light from the flashlight shone and it was coming straight through, all around all those faucets, all around the tub fill.  Oh my goodness, so then we started moving and we got - water just would go - it made total sense.  So then he re-caulked, so we found the problem and we re-caulked it, right?  Well it turned out later there was another problem - it's been kind of a little here, little there king of thing.  I mean, it'll be good for awhile, like a year, and start leaking again.  So the bottom line is that big, fat, lazy plumber who had us run and he sat there the whole time, never even saw all the problem areas that were all around the faucets.  So I wasn't happy about that.  So we went to another plumbing company that was the least expensive and the highest rated.  And we just had him come in and he fixed it quickly.  He had to cut out part of the pipe that fed into the faucet and we got all new faucets and everything for the bathroom that we've had the non-stop problem with.  So we replaced that but also, if you go into the wall, there's a round device that feeds the water into your faucet - that was the leak - that was it.  So that was taken care of.  We're kind of done with B & D Plumbing - they're too hit or miss."

"John took a look at what needed to be done and explained what he was fixing as he went. When he didn't have a specific part in his truck, he gave me the option to go and pickup a part from a plumbing supply store to help keep the cost down. I thought the company was very reasonable in terms of price for the work that was completed compared to my past experiences!"

"Sooo....first, Jim is a very nice guy.  However, Jim now works in Nashville during the week and is only home to the Huntsville area on the weekends.
My first impression of him was that he was awesome.  My computer system had crashed because I pulled the plug during a thunder storm before the computer fully shut down which resulted in the computer hanging up.  Jim took my call while in Tennessee and suggested how to fix the system.  For this I am very grateful.

What happened next was I had him come and check my computer to make sure everything was working properly.  He came to my house and spent an hour tweaking it (basically running various checks on the system), for which I paid him $50.  He suggested that my laptop would work much better if I had Windows 7 and increased my RAM up to 4 GB.  He said he could install it for me for (including the RAM) for about $160.  We met the following weekend for the handoff and he loaded Window 7.  When I received the call it was ready, the bill was $227.50.  I was surprised that is was $70 more than quoted, but paid it anyways.  When I asked about the RAM, he mentioned he did not upgrade the RAM and this would be another $60.  I was a little discouraged at that point since I felt like I was being taken advantage of, but the guy is relatively nice, so I said to go ahead and order the RAM.  He did so and the following weekend was supposed to install it.  Due to some personal things in his life, he wasn't able to install it, so I picked it up since I had to go out of town and could use the IT guy at my new location to install it for me.  When we went to install the RAM, the system wouldn't let us do it since my particular type of laptop can only take 2GB of RAM max.  If Jim had gone to the crucial.com website (where he bought my RAM) and entered my computer system on it, it would have told him the max amount of RAM that could be installed on that unit.  He did not do that.  He is supposed to refund my $60 this next weekend.

I think if Jim wasn't burning the candle at both ends by having a job in Tennessee during the week and trying to run this business on the weekends, it would've been a better experience.  Perhaps taking a few extra minutes to SLOW DOWN and write out an estimate of everything he would need for the job including the prices would ensure people know up front how much the repair would/should cost so they can budget accordingly.  I think if he had taken that approach, it might've been a better experience.  So now I am stuck with a laptop that runs slower because Windows 7 uses more memory and a laptop that can't be upgraded to more RAM.  Basically, the last step which cost me almost $300 was not necessary.  If you need something simple done like coming back from a system crash, he would be okay to use.  Otherwise, for the bigger jobs, I recommend he provide a written estimate with the items he plans to do.

UPDATE:  After posting this review, I received a number of text messages from Jim commenting on the bad review.  I understand he is upset, but harassing someone about a review is not a good way to go.  My review was honest and not meant to be mean, but to let those that use Angie's list get what they pay for...an honest review of someone's experience."

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Osseo, MN

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
