"We hired Edge Energy to do a full house remodel (3,000 sq. ft.,two floors, kitchen, living room, dining room, family room, breakfast space, four bedrooms, two full baths and a powder room, laundry room). This is a little outside their normal scope but we really liked the company owner, Jason Dispenza and he set up a favorable pricing schedule that didn't include some of the exorbitant management fees we have seen with other contractors. They started with an energy audit which helped to determine some of the aspects of the systems upgrades we would need. We changed the room configuration on both floors, replaced major systems (water heater, HVAC,electrical, etc.) replaced windows and put in new window openings, installed support beams, replaced the roof, insulation, electrical upgrade and lighting, replaced much of the hardwood flooring, drywall, paint and added a new front entry with a new porch. It was a major job which we lived through for months with the exception of about two weeks when the drywall work was being done. Our living there caused Edge some additional work, but they were considerate of protecting what remained in the house, and making the space as livable as possible. The result is beautiful and we probably have one of the most energy efficient homes in our area of Maryland. The Edge crew was great to work with, very considerate and careful to not disrupt our life more than necessary. Mike Hogan, the project manager was very good to work with, attentive to concerns and very responsive to suggestions. During many weeks we were talking daily. Most subs were very good as well- the HVAC, roofing and drywall guys were great. Our only concerns were with the plumber who delayed the project considerably and the final cost of the project was higher than the estimate we had originally received. I would highly recommend Edge Energy for their work and their customer responsiveness. They are technically highly competent and are very good people to work with."

"I was lucky enough to have someone refer me to BlueStar Air Mechanical when my AC started acting up. The home warranty company confirmed that it was busted, but their mechanic was unreliable. After contacting a couple of other companies and having high quotes, I contacted Danny at BlueStar. The next morning (on a Saturday, nonetheless) I met Rhandel who quickly gave me a quote to replace my HVAC system (furnace and condenser). Rhandel was very nice and thoroughly explained my options. My home has two HVAC systems, so he also added a quote for the second system (which was on its last legs, too). The systems recommended were upgrades to what I had (increasing 1/2 ton on each system). To accommodate this, BlueStar included extra ductwork for me so that my house could accommodate. We met on a Saturday, agreed on a price on Monday, and everything was installed on a Thursday. They sent two crews and these guys worked hard for 12 hours straight to make sure both units were completed that day. I was very happy with their pricing and service. I have already recommended them to people I know in need of HVAC service. Pros: Pricing, options, promptness, service. Cons: 3% surcharge for credit cards"

"I am a returning customer to H&F Service. Betty and Mike are kind, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and rather accommodating. As busy as they are, I have never had to wait more than one day before Mike comes out to the house. This time it was during the Christmas holidays. We called for the fall/winter service and after checking out outdoor heat pump, Mike showed us that we need new fan blades because they were not spinning evenly due to being chipped and broken. The heat pump sits underneath a window awning and apparently over the years, winter ice dropping from the awnings damaged the blades. We also discovered that the fan motor needed to be replaced. He went to get the parts and quickly returned to do the repairs. He completed the system check-up and repairs in a couple of hours counting time to go and come back with the parts. Mike is always courteous and takes to explain the problem and what to do to prevent issues. Because we have been pleased with H&F since we first discovered them on Angie's List many years ago, we also use them for servicing our other home and will continue to do so. "BGE Home beat the nearest competitive pricey a couple of hundred dollars. Their representative knew what he was talking about. He, and the crew that replaced the unit, were on time. The crew worked quickly, replacing the whole unit in a few hours. They respected our home, offering some alternatives for a plant that might have to be moved to allow access to the outside unit. The rep even offered to loan us 2 window air conditioning units free, because our unit had to be replaced in the middle of a heat wave and it would be a few days until they could replace ours. (We did not take advantage of this offer, as we were going to be out of town anyway in the interim.)"
