"I had an unusual request for A.N.D. I wanted an old garage door put on a new track and a new garage door on and old track. After they left, the new door on the old track was not working correctly. They came back quickly to adjust the old track so that the door ran correctly. They were very professional in returning to correct the problem which may have been caused by the old track."

"I was wanting to have a hole in my plaster repaired and repainted so I contacted Investment Painting Contractors.  As I was talking with the contractor I mentioned that I wanted to replace my tub with a tub surround and he said he had a licensed plumber that he could recommend.  I asked for an estimate on time and cost for the project and it was within my budget so I hired them.  Both the plumber and the painter showed up when they said they would and worked hard and long hours. 

The plumber did a nice job with the tub surround.  It was difficult and they ended up having to knock out a wall in the closet adjacent to the bathroom to fit the surround into the bathroom.  The plumber said it was the worst surround he has put in during his 20 year career.  The repaired drywall is perfect around the tub surround. 
The painter does an excellent job painting.  He is very meticulous and takes the time to do the job right.  I love the way my bathroom turned out . . . perfect.  My daughter's room was also painted and she wanted a chalkboard wall on one wall.  She is also very pleased with the work.  You cannot even see where the ceiling had to be repaired.  Excellent work.  The painter has an excellent eye for color and gently recommended the best options for making the rooms look their best.  I am so happy with the way everything turned out. 
The plumber and the painters were very personable and honest about the work that they were doing.  Both were very polite, as well."

"Started with Rachel on the phone who was kind and specific. She quoted a firm price over the phone and set up the appointment. The technician, Ed, was friendly and helpful. He arrived right on time, told me how long it would take and proceeded to vacuum up the hundreds of shards of glass, somehow getting every one of them. The replacement window was installed for exactly the price quoted. They came to my house and all I had to do was pay and say thank you. I highly recommend The Glass Doctor. They were great and their price was considerably less than other providers including those who did not offer home service. The window fits perfectly and operates smoothly."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. "In 2017, when I was looking to purchase a house in the Rockford area that was needing a full siding install I contacted GF Company in Belvidere. IL, who I found on Angie’s list and at that time GF Co had great reviews. Strangely enough these great reviews are no longer to be found on Angie’s List. It should also be noted there is a GF Siding in Cherry Valley. IL, this is Not the company that I did business with. Ariel Zmijewski (the owner) got me a quote quickly and I decided to purchase the house. A few months later in July 2017, I contacted Ariel again to discuss the finer points of the quote, the price was revised slightly and the Ariel mentioned that once a deposit was paid work could start 6-8 weeks later, but said the install would be finished before the cold weather arrived. I started creating a color layout and Ariel provided some feedback on what would work and not work. To this point I was very happy with progress. In September 2017 I paid a deposit of over $8k (about 44% of final price) and awaited updates for a start date. Nothing happened. In early March 2018 I contacted GF Co by phone stating that I had been very patient and they had had $8k as a deposit for the last 6 months and I had nothing to show for it. After a couple more calls and emails Ariel showed up with his foreman Mark and they said that work would start in the middle of the following week. Much to my surprise the work started on time. Over the course of the next 4 weeks Mark and his crew worked hard, only missing a few days due to bad weather, I even agreed to having some extra work done by the team, some wooden entrance steps that needed replacing for an additional $2.5k. By early May 2018 the job was finished the house looked great and I was very happy with the work and appearance and was getting compliments from neighbors too. The balance of owed of over $10k was paid with 48 hours of the work being finished. Again I was happy with work done, until… A few months after the install a TV cable box started having troubles. Cut a long story short the wall socket died because cable was suddenly defective, also the crew had moved the exterior cable input box and this didn’t help the issue. Comcast fixed it, but I now have an exterior cable showing and they had to drill through the siding. Then around Halloween 2018, less than six months after having the install completed, I noticed that a piece of siding (6ft approx.) had become detached underneath a window, trying to pop it back into place did not resolve the issue. After checking all the other exterior windows I noticed 1 other window was about to do the same thing. I called the GF Company main number and left a message with the receptionist for Ariel to contact me. No response. I called again a couple of times and left more messages still no response. In March 2019 siding problem under windows still Not fixed, I called GF Company again, no answer, and no voice mail. I called a couple more times on different days still no answer or voice mail. I then sent an email to the company and to my surprise I received a response from Ariel stating this was the first that he had heard of it. About a week later (3/26/19) he showed up at my house to view the problem. Ariel stated that he would get someone over to fix the problem, but would not give me a date or time. On 4/2/19 I emailed Ariel again asking for confirmation of a repair date ? Nothing but crickets… On 4/30/19, I sent another email to Ariel requesting that the repairs be completed before the end of May 2019, again no response. Quote / contract says: Customers will receive a Lifetime Warranty on Material and Workmanship Reported GF Company to Illinois BBB on 6/5/19."

"I have worked with contractors in the past but, never had such kind, courteous, punctual, and patient young men as Jovon and Jeremy. They worked with me on the situation I was in. My neighbor was going to install my storm door for free but he ended up in a cast due to a work injury. So now I'm stuck. I contact Angi to get some Quotes. Jovon set up the appointment. Arrived on time. Just toward the end of the install we discover I had ordered the door to wide I had a 36" and I needed a 32". So then I went online to find the right door. Jovon and Jeremy gave me another appointment for the next day, They arrived at 10 AM and went out of their way to take me back to Menards to exchange the door. I Will RECOMMEND these wonderful guys to every one I hear of that needs work done. Jovon and Jeremy I Thank you for doing a great job at an affordable price. ."

"Recommend for painting and drywall (DRYWALL ESPECIALLY)! One of the owners gave us a quote for the job, was incredibly personable, and got us in for said quote immediately. In addition, he found a way to squeeze us in asap. The two men that were sent were quite nice and professional; they were friendly and quiet. In addition, the morning before they arrived, my husband realized that I had forgotten to request that they paint the half bathroom (listed above) as part of the job - but I called the owner that gave me the quote, and he found a way to clear the workers' schedules so that they could complete the work (only adding a totally reasonable $140 for an entire, inconvenient half bath) for us without complaint. In general, they did a good job - however, there were a few minor problems. When they arrived the first day, they seemed very confused/surprised to see that there was a large whole in the ceiling that needed repairing prior to painting...but that was the main issue that needed resolving. They made some calls, and had to leave to pick up some supplies, but then came back and got started. They were, for the most part, fairly clean both days that they were here, but there was some mess that made me a bit unhappy...my sink was a mess when they left both days, and I found random bits of paint and drywall plaster splattered throughout the house (on tile, carpet, and other surfaces) that I had to try to deal with, and there was some paint that bled from the walls to the trim/overlap to other colors (walls) that they did not fix up in various places. In addition, there was one random area in a corner in the hallway that was not "cut in" correctly over a drywall repair that looked really bad. The owner did not ask for payment until he came out a day after the job was finished to verify that the job was done (and, I think, that he and his partner are the only ones that handle the money). I brought up that there were some issues, but that, overall, things went mostly okay (things were much better the first day than the second - I don't know if maybe they were rushed the second day because of the addition of the bathroom...?); I did say that I couldn't let the corner of the hallway stand the way it was, and he fixed it on the spot before accepting the check. Overall, even with the minor issues, the cost was still incredibly fair, and I'd still use the company again without hesitation. The problems were - as compared to most contractors I've dealt with - quite minor, and I enjoyed dealing with them. They were prompt, friendly, and easy to deal with...which seems quite hard to find in a contracting company these days!"
