"They did an excellent job with the brick installation. Greg made sure everything was done correctly and all the repairs on the home were completed. They were very thorough and had great attention to detail. I would highly recommend Pisani Contracting."

"My damaged wall was rebuilt. The damaged wall was removed. I am very much satisfied with the job. In fact, blocks from the ‘old wall’ were salvaged, because they had a unique style [that is not readily available] A quote from another contractor stated that I would have to accept a rebuilt wall with only standard blocks, no stylized blocks☹️ The work done by Primo Contracting exceeded my expectations."

"The install went well, they did a real nice job, cleaned up good too. My only complaint was it took about two months from the time I paid the deposit, until they did the installation. I am assuming it was because of the steel tariffs and they can't get the product as quick."

"After contacting multiple companies with little to no success - I reached out to Thomas Robert Construction LLC. I received an almost immediate response from Tom - who not only listened but responded positively. He didn't even hesitate when I informed him I had done the home-work - and that I would be his primary contact even though this project was solely for my husband! From the first meeting and throughout the project - Tom addressed questions - brought in the correct workmen for each step - provided explanation as the work progressed and met expectations. We caused a time delay by deciding on a change in insulation and a change in wall finish - there was no backlash or negativity from Tom but rather a complete concurrence that we were making an investment in our home and we should end up with what we want --and Tom was going to make it happen! In short - when looking for QUALITY WORK - ACCOUNTABILITY AND DEPENDABILITY call Thomas Robert Construction LLC - We plan on working with him again in the future !! Check out Thomas Robert Construction LLC on facebook - and see our Raise the Roof project!!"

"The job went extremely well. From the initial return phone call to the representative giving us a free home quote through the complete job, we were extremely happy with the results. No more worries about chipped bricks or a hole in our garage chimney cap as an entrance to wildlife. Also the cosmetic improvement which improves the curb appeal of our property. They exceeded expectations, arrived on time and finished both jobs in one day. I was very happy to write the final check."

"Mark installed our home windows at a great price and with great service. He was responsive and timely, not only with the initial installation, but in TWO subsequent follow-ups to replace a damaged window. Mark goes above and beyond and I will continued to work with 21st Century for our upcoming front door project."

"I've used Husband For a Day several times and once again they did a great job. The siding and trim on my chimney was in need of replacement due to weather induced rot. I had wanted to replace the wood based materials with composites because of exposure to the elements. Dale came out and gave me a detailed estimate and work was scheduled promptly. This was a difficult job requiring a lot of effort and working in high places because my chimney is not straight or on the side of the house. But both the carpenters and the painter didn't bat an eye. They clambered up on the roof and even up on top of the chimney itself to get the work done and the result looks great! I will be sure to call on Husband For a Day for any future home repairs."

"Not sure where to begin with this second review! My first review was early on with this just completed bath remodeling. I am writing this on February 26, 2020. The final inspection was just this morning! In good faith we hired Northwest construction, Dearborn, MI. and signed a contact 10/ 19/2019. We we’re brought our final bill on February 8th 2020 as the Project Manager was in need of going out of town. Billing was increased due to unforeseen circumstances and overages of materials. Even though we were told in the beginning that he estimated high end pricing for us, often items wanted were said to be “out of stock or discontinued or, just unattainable”. At that point, out of utter frustration, we’d just seek out the item and purchase it! In fact, the final delay ( of one entire month) was a simple bathroom door with glass insert. This was a desired door wanted very early on in this remodeling project. We simply walked into Home Depot and ordered it!! I am not upset about the additional pricing, as it is fair. I am however, extremely unhappy with several other things... 1.) TIME FRAME: at first being told the job would take from a few weeks to a month. It took 4 months! When the final bill was presented, we asked, “Did the company owners ever say anything about the extreme amount of time this job took?” The answer was; “ No, They don’t care!” Clearly!! Next, is the (“unforeseen”) damage done to the rest of our home during this ongoing project, due to carelessness ( in my observation). Plumber fell through the lower bath ceiling, HVAC pounded through the stairwell wall and, the “dustzippered partitions” (being taped for so long) took dry wall as removed. Then, poorly patched and touched up with paint that doesn’t match! We lived with holes in the walls and, ceiling along with plastic zippered walls taped up since November (yes, through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and Valentine’s Day). This was very unacceptable!! The actual construction work is nicely done. The finishing work ( paint, Wood trim, attic access door, projected heat vent cover ( left projecting put from wall 3”???) is the worst construction work I have ever seen done by a professional! Busted and old in poor condition wood trim was reinstalled, after being poorly patched, as part of the finishing of a new project. There was a lot of miscommunication, procrastination in obtaining materials. There was the lost tile episode??! Additionally, tile was miscalculated and costly overages occurred. Then, two weeks scheduled time off during Christmas (unbeknownst to us until Christmas was on us). Unfortunately, for NorthWest, we live in a neighborhood where many are looking to updating their homes. We were ask if the bathroom could be viewed, when it was noticed that the advertising sign was taken away ( end of January) I had to simply tell them the job is not, yet completed and I highly recommend them NOT to consider Northwest Construction, a company “who doesn’t care!”"

"Doctor Flue installed a direct vent gas fireplace several years ago. The installation was very smooth. This week they provided service that was well-done and also provided several photos with detailed explanations on what was performed. They have a well-run sales, installation and service departments. I am happy to endorse them!!"

"Although we had to wait a lot longer than expected for the work to be done, once it was our turn, the work was done expertly and promptly. We asked them to come back to re-polish the stone which they did without any issue. I highly recommend this company for any brick or stonework you may have for your historic home. I have passed Dan's company name along to our local HDC."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Pleasant Ridge, MI

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
