"The Water Doctor promptly returned my call at 5pm on Thanksgiving evening. They agreed to come out the next morning (on a holiday!) to service our failed well. They communicated their status to us constantly and after arriving, were courteous and professional; they explained what they were doing and showed us their findings. The failed pump was replaced and we were back in service in under 3 hours! They cleaned up and left no mess. I would definitely recommend Water Doctor to anyone who needs well service."

"Rick was excellent. Our water heater died during a cold snap in January. We called another plumber, he tried to revive our old Navien water heater that was located outdoors, but it was beyond repair. The other plumber gave us an estimate to install a new water heater in our garage. It was way too expensive. We called McCoy, and he gave us a very reasonable estimate, given that the gas line had to be extended from one side of the house to the other. Rick listened to our concerns and objectives, and provided what we wanted. Josh and Taylor showed up and worked quickly and efficiently, and it was a long day at that. The new water heater is working very well, and we hope to have no problems during future cold snaps. The new water heater is a recirculating model and we have the wired remote located in the house. This configuration works very well for us."

"I waited to write this review until winter cold so I could accurately rate the performance gains by having this kind of repair service done to a house. My house is heated and cooled with a heat pump.  Two of my 4 bedrooms would be cold in the winter and hot in the summer.  Not any more! The air temp for the entire second floor is uniform both in summer and in winter!
The way the system works is that Peter Natland and his crew seal every air register in the house. They hook up a computerized monitor and are able to measure (in cfm) the amount of air leakage you have.  My house started out with a total of 90 CFM of leakage.  Then for the next 20 minutes, they inject a sealing compound into the duct system and are able to print out on a graph the performance gains as the sealer does it's work.  When completed, I only had 4CFM of leakage!  What this means is that the two bedrooms at the end of the line were now getting the air needed to cool and heat them.  My heat pump also ran less often to maintain the temp in our home. All this was done without cutting holes or otherwise gaining access to to the duct system that was installed in the ceiling between the first and second floor.  The last step was to disconnect the monitor, remove the seals from the ductwork throughout the house, in install the register covers.  When they left there was no trace that they had even been there except for the fact that every room in the house was now the same temperature.
Although this was an expensive project, in the end it was money well spent as the efficiency of my heat pump has been improved and the house is way more comfortable!

"When I was investigating sealing the crawl space, I got estimates from several companies. Moisture Loc's estimate impressed me because the work proposed was tailored to the specific conditions in my crawl space. Their approach was to first do work that made the most sense and then evaluate the results - rather than to install every possible product right from the start. Time was spent to educate me on the rationale for the work and to answer all my questions.

When the installation was done, Moisture Loc was on time for the appointment. The crew of workers worked efficiently, removed debris, and left the work site in good condition. The work and installation was inspected on completion.

Four years later, the closed crawl space system continues to function as and quot;advertizedand quot;. There have been no mold or high moisture problems. Moisture Loc has been very responsive, stands by their work, and has been very willing to periodically inspect the crawl space to make sure all is as it should be."

"

My wife noticed a 'springy' place in our hallway where we had installed new hardwood flooring a year ago so we called a handy-man we knew to check it out.  To our surprise, he reported finding a 5-7" pond. extensive mold and falling saturated insulation.  Insurance was no help, citing ground water(we had an abnormally heavy rainy season), poor grading, and lack of proper gutters on the house, so we were on our own.  First we had excellent gutters installed(see Savannah Seamless Gutters)  Then we started getting estimates for mold remediation and insulation.  By the way, none of the estimates required pump out of our 'pond' which dried up on it's own after the gutters came. The first estimate wanted me to pay to rent 220volt dryers for two weeks after knocking a hole in our floor to access 220v at our clothes dryer.  Their price was high, too.  Next came a company whose estimate and work did not include old insulation cleanup and haul off, nor did it include insulation installation   Their subs insulation estimate did not include old insulation clean up and haul off, only new insulation. The old stuff required yet another estimate and sub.  Well add it all up and you guessed it.  Big bucks.

Meanwhile, my wife was sharing our woes with a friend of ours who had an unrelated business relationship with a guy named Greg, whose business was Crawl Space Doctors, so I gave him a call.  Greg came by, looked at our job and told me that he'd seen worse.  He then proceeded to explain their method and showed me some jobs they had done.  We hit it off right away.  After hearing his explanation of their conditioned space method that called for NO Insulation, dehumidification and continuing follow-up maintenance, I hoped his turn-key job would come in on budget.  Well it did.  Greg and his crew worked fast, left an immaculate work space and caused us no inconvenience.  He even did work above and beyond his fair and reasonable estimate at no extra charge.  I would not hesitate to recommend Greg and Crawl Space Doctors to anyone."

FAQs for well pump installation and replacement projects in Salisbury, NC

Signs that your well pressure tank requires replacement include inconsistent water pressure, your pump turning on and off frequently (known as short cycling), visible leaks around the tank, or unusual noises from your well system. Physical damage, corrosion, or a tank that's reached its seven to 10-year expected lifespan may also indicate it's time for replacement. When multiple issues arise simultaneously, replacement often proves more economical than attempting repairs.

The timeframe for professional well pressure tank replacement varies depending on your specific system and any complications that might arise during installation. Factors that can affect installation time include accessibility of your current tank, whether additional components need replacement, and the complexity of your well system. For precise timing expectations, consult with the professional handling your installation.

Attempting to replace your well pressure tank involves several potential risks, including improper pressure calibration that could damage your pump, contamination of your water supply, and physical injury from handling heavy equipment. Additionally, incorrect installation might lead to water leaks, property damage, or system inefficiency. Many manufacturers also specify that professional installation is required to maintain warranty coverage, making the $125 to $200 professional installation fee a worthwhile investment for most homeowners.
