"I contacted Bluestar Air Mechanical for a second opinion after an appointment with Air One. I have a Carrier HVAC system, and the Air One technician recommended a complete system replacement, claiming the blower was bad, the furnace control board needed replacing, and that there were other issues. Since replacing the HVAC is a big investment, I wanted to get a second opinion. It was only after comparing the service from Bluestar that I realized Air One may have been pushing for a new system sale or lacked the expertise to properly diagnose and repair the actual problems. Isaac, the technician from Bluestar, spent about an hour thoroughly diagnosing and fixing the issues. He found burnt wiring in the furnace and discovered that the wrong capacitor had been incorrectly installed in the AC. Isaac replaced the burnt wiring in the furnace and the capacitor in the AC. After these repairs, my Carrier system was back up and running—without the need for a costly replacement. Bluestar, and Isaac in particular, demonstrated professionalism, expertise, and honesty. They focused on resolving the actual issues instead of pushing for an unnecessary system replacement. I highly recommend Bluestar for their reliable service and Isaac’s thorough and knowledgeable work."

"It was a superb experience. From the visit by Bruce the sales representative to the installation day to the follow-up from Petro, every single person we interacted with was helpful and professional. When Bruce arrived to do the assessment, we spent time going over the heating needs in the house. After a thorough inspection and measurement of the house, we sat down. He showed me a few options, all of which were going to provide good service. I ordered a unit at the end of that meeting. The installation day was just terrific- the entire work crew that showed up were everything I would hope to find: Upbeat, informative, hard-working, focused. The job was finished before end of day as promised. The heater room is now immaculate, with new piping and a new heater. It was like watching a pit crew at a NASCAR race. Everyone had their tasks, they moved carefully but quickly. The materials were all laid out in order, etc. Just a totally professional approach to their work. The crew boss answered any questions I had. The follow-up for a normal inspection of the furnace chimney was scheduled the day after the installation. I’ve gotten calls to insure we are satisfied with the work. Satisfied barely covers it- I am pleased to write this kind of review. "JDL HVAC Services was the contractor provided by our home warranty company to repair our heating system. The were initially prompt and came out to the house and attempted to diagnose the problem. The technician though the problem was the circuit board and JDL delivered a replacement from Carrier the same day. Unfortunately, the part did not fix the problem and the technician thought the replacement part was defective. Unfortunately, it was Friday and Carrier wasn't open on the weekend. I specifically asked the technician what would happen on Monday and was told that JDL would get a new part Monday morning and then come to the house immediately to install it. This was very important since we had no heat on Friday and over the weekend and the temperature dropped below 20 degrees at night. Monday was a disaster. Unknown by us, JDL called at 7:30 a.m. and when we didn't answer, they removed us from their schedule. At 8:30, we realized they'd called, and contacted Joe and he added us back to the schedule, but in the afternoon. When a new (more experienced) technician showed up, he did NOT bring any replacement parts. When I called Joe to inquiry why the technician had no parts with him as promised Friday, he said he wouldn't buy another part because he couldn't get a refund on the first replacement circuit board. He also wasn't convinced the heater circuit board was the problem and wanted to do more diagnostics. I also asked Joe why they didn't come out in the morning as originally promised, and he had the audacity to blame us for not answering his phone call which we had no idea to expect. He also blamed his technician for providing us incorrect information. He did put another employee on standby to get parts from Carrier once the new diagnosis was complete. The new technician found another part that had failed and it was delivered with the original replacement circuit board. Both replacement parts were installed. While the technicians were friendly and informative, Joe was rude and lacked friendly or acceptable customer service skills/friendly. He also does not keep his technicians informed (the new technicians couldn't answer any of my questions) and it did not appear the technicians speak to each other when they transfer a repair. Overall this was not a positive experience due to the poor customer service from Joe. He did call an apologize (left a voicemail) after the repair was complete."

"Our heat went out and we reached out to Beltway. They were able to get out to us in a timely manner and diagnose the problem. The system was 25 years old and was going to cost 700 dollars to make a repair that had already been repaired once before we bought our home. After discussing our options with Ryan we decided to replace our furnace and AC unit instead of risking future issues and pouring more money in to an old system. He gave us a very reasonable price on a two stage system that is much more energy efficient than our existing unit and did not even charge us for the repair of our current system since we decided to buy a new unit. They have a 5 year labor warranty on their work which is far better than most companies that only offer a one or two year warranty. The install team was very courteous and polite, always wearing shoe covers and taking down decorations or moving stuff to avoid damage while coming in and out. At the end they walked us through the new unit and told us what to watch out for. We would definitely recommend Beltway to anyone and will come to them in the future with all our HVAC needs."

"Called the company the week before regarding a Home Inspection issue with my heat pump which needed serviced and cleaned, the gentlement I spoke with was for very quick to schedule my appointment. They came out inspected my heat pump and said it was too old and if it needed parts they would not be able to order them, so they didn't do any work.  I called the company and they explained that they didn't want to be responsible for the job.  The End.   But all the representatives of the company were very informative,  courteous and polite

"Sila was one of three companies I contacted for estimates on replacing my oil-fired systems with heat pumps. I have a boiler and two forced air furnaces, so the work would be extensive. I contacted Sila because their reviews were favorable, they sell Carrier products (which I was leaning toward), and they sell high velocity systems, which I felt might be a good option in the older part of the house where I don't have ducts. I was prepared to really go over the things that work well with ducts in the house, things that don't, and what my general asks were for the systems. The salesman was pleasant enough, but seemed completely uninterested in how I felt my current systems were and what my goals were. I asked for a price on two levels of Carrier (Performance and Inifinity) for the existing forced air systems, and then price me out for a reasonable high velocity system. The sales person who came out was pretty perfunctory and didn't take good notes while we spoke. I didn't think he was really that engaged in my concerns about the routing of high velocity ducting and placement--he just told me how it would have to be. While sometimes that's how things work, I don't think he really addressed my concerns with having all outlets in the ceiling only in the lower level, which would potentially leave me with lots of heat hanging around the ceiling. However, the larger issues were that the bids did not match the requirements for the project. First, he sent only the high velocity bid and nothing for the other systems. When i asked, he sent the other estimate, but only for the Carrier Infinity, omitting that I specifically asked for a bid on doing those systems with a Performance line that would allow me to use my existing non-communicating thermostats. In addition, their bid was the most expensive and their attention to detail seemed poor for a $40,000+ job. Spending less than an hour with me and sending lackluster boilerplate bids (with all kinds of language that should not have been in the bid, like references to other brands, etc.). A bid should be custom for the buyer and tailored for match what I'm asking for. This lack of attention to detail and customer focus lost Sila this job."
