"Hello, I am requesting assistance from a licensed plumber/gas fitter for gas service restoration at my property: 1239 Maple Ave. Baltimore, MD 21227 BGE has determined that the prior gas service was abandoned and is now processing the project as a new gas service line and exterior meter installation. "I got quotes from 3 companies, and Saffer Plumbing provided the only quote that used directional boring to lay the new copper pipe under the ground without requiring a backhoe to tear up my front yard. They were easy to work with throughout the whole process (as they have been in the past), from quote to installation. I was really impressed with the quality of the work, including removing and saving my sod, prior to digging at the meter and next to my basement. They replaced the sod after completion, and honestly you would be hard pressed to know any work was done at the house. "Several years back, I called for help and we talked through my problem. We concluded that no water was leaving my house and it was backing up out of a pipe in the basement. In talking through our architecture and location, he determined this was most likely something that could be solved by Baltimore City services (for free). That turned out to be the case. The City workers came out fairly quickly, identified and cleared the clog outside my home, and I paid nothing (outside of my tax returns, of course ... "my tax dollars at work"). Knock You Out could have tried to make some money off of me by saying they needed to come out and look at it, then referring me to the City, and then charging me for their time/truck-roll (while prolonging the entire thing for me). Knock You Out is not cold and unscrupulous. By spending time with me on the phone, but doing no work here and making nothing from it, they proved themselves to be honest and decent people. And that may be the main thing we shop for in home services."

"Gleanoak plumbing was very professional and responded to the call and promptly showed up at the appointed time as a service call to clean out a clogged kitchen sink. We agreed upon the price of $275, which is steep, but this needed to be done and he seemed reputable - indeed he was both professional and prompt.
During the job, Gleanoak Plumbing was asked to look at the upstairs sink that I had shut off the hot water as there was a slow drip underneath the sink. He called me and stated that the nut was cracked and that was why it was dripping. If he wanted me to take care of it, he could, but the total cost of the job would sky-rocket to $700. This is price-gouging at it's finest. He was at our home for a total of 1h30 and charged a heckuva lot for a routine job.
Would NOT recommend this plumber on the basis of price-gouging.

"The plummer was on time and completed the task quickly.  However, a day after he provided the service the drain once again backed up.  I contacted quality plumbing and drain cleaning  and was told that there was no guarantee for the service.  I was told to contact Baltimore city.  It was apparent that Mr. Fama had no intention of returning to 'resneak" the pipe.

I contacted my insurance company who did send a drain service and a blockage was found and cleared.  It now has been several days with no additional problems.  The new service provider simply sneaked the pipe to clear the problem."

Dean and Oscar are phenomenal! 
As a first time home owner who knows nothing about plumbing, finding a plumber is pretty scary - especially when you need one shortly after having hired a big chain plumber that left you broke and very dissatisfied.

I originally contacted Dean because I had a small leak in the basement and needed him to troubleshoot my Dishwasher.

During our first conversation he asked if I could send pictures of the leak and from under the kitchen sink to get a better idea of what was going on. Right away he noticed my sink did not have a p-trap (which the previous plumber I dealt with failed to notice). Once he determined what needed to be done (replace hose bib, install a p-trap and look at DW) we scheduled an appointment. Due to my work hours, I had to schedule him to perform most of the work while I was gone, and though I was very hesitant about leaving a stranger in my home alone; those worries quickly dissolved after our first meet. 

Things worked out so well the first time that I had them come back to move, re-pipe and hook up my tub, washer and gas dryer! I will also contact them to replace my sewage line sooner than later. They?ve been courteous, professional, neat, worked with my scheduled and have done an amazing job. I don?t feel like I?m getting ripped off and Dean takes the time to not only explain things, but to teach you how to prevent any issues in the future.
