We're a residential heating and cooling company based right here in Spokane Valley, and we built this business around one stubborn idea: that you can run a trades company without treating customers like marks. No fear tactics. No mystery pricing. No "trust me, you don't want to know what's wrong." Just straight answers, fair numbers, and work we'd be comfortable putting in our own parents' homes.

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"Ryan was ready and waiting when I arrived at our son's residence, He promptly appraised the project and made recommendations for an inline pipe repair and connection to the outside spicket. Considering he had to work in the crawl space under the house he did not complain and proceeded to fix the leaks and replaced the connections in a timely manner. Very professional and very good at what he does, I wouldn't hesitate to use Shaw Plumbing services again especially if it's Ryan doing the work."

"At first they thought it was a fuse but the air conditioning failed again just a few hours after the technician left. We decided since it was after hours to call back in the morning. They came right out on Saturday and realized that a transformer was also bad. The company called us on Monday and adjusted the bill and only charged us for the Saturday call at normal weekday rates. It was very nice to have the repairs done at a fair price. Everyone was very professional."

FAQs for heat pump repair or service projects in Spokane, WA

Heat pumps move air to cool or warm your home during different seasons. In cold weather, they extract heat from the outdoors and bring it inside to warm your home. In warm weather, they remove heat from your home to keep it cool. This efficient heat transfer increases indoor comfort, improves energy efficiency, and reduces the need for additional heating systems.

Replacing a heat pump costs between $4,200 and $7,900. The actual cost depends on the type of heat pump. Geothermal models are the most expensive to replace, with the price of the unit plus labor ranging between $6,000 and $20,000. Air source models cost between $4,500 and $8,000 to replace, while the replacement costs for a mini split unit run between $1,300 and $8,000.

The average heat pump is designed to last about 14 years, roughly the same as a central air conditioning system (12 to 15 years). Newer models can last 20 years or more. How long your heat pump lasts depends on how frequently you use it and whether you perform routine maintenance like annual tuneups.
