"Needing a new HVAC is never fun. I had 4 companies come out to do estimates because of the cost involved. Presidential knew what they were talking about, did't try to upsell items I didn't want or need, and handled themselves like complete pros. The system was replaced in a day. They explained everything thoroughly. They cleaned up beautifully. The AC is working great. In my opinion, they are A++++"

"They replaced the heating system which included the blower assembly. The blower had failed is what happened on the old system. It is all part of the heating system. They are a very good company. That is why I keep using them. They were responsive. They did not try to sell me something that I did not need. This was the perfect unit for the rental property. They were very prompt and did a fine installation. It was another one of those short notices during hot weather. It was not real cheap but an average price."

"Polar Bear offered a competitive quote, and what seemed a good solution for a somewhat tricky roof install for our AC. Problem is that we asked for a higher ton unit, fearing their initial recommendation would not be strong enough, but they did not follow through on that and installed a smaller unit. Lo and behold the AC does not work sufficiently for our home. They say it is because of poor duct work in our older home. That may be part of it, but the system cools worse than our old one did, before it conked out. After spending $10k on this system just a couple years ago, we just spent ANOTHER 10k for installation of supplemental AC systems (by another company) so our house can actually make it through the DC summer. Now our main floor cools great, but the upstairs, which relies on the AC system that Polar Bear installed, still struggles. I've had Polar Bear come out multiple times to see there is anything they could do to make the AC work better, and other than top up coolant, they haven't offered solutions. I'd not use them again, had more positive experience with another company that I just also reviewed here."

"The two person crew arrived on time and installed the heat pump out in the rain under a 10' pop up tent and replaced the air handler. The whole job was complete before the end of the day."

"JDL helped in install a brand-new Carrier brand condenser unit and furnace, along with a Rheem hot water heater to replace an almost 30-year-old system at our house. The team at JDL was very professional and accommodating as we went through the proposal and estimate process. A big thank you to Amber for helping us through all that. The installation was great and seamless. Armando, thank you for you and your team’s hard work in taking out the old system and setting us up. The system has been doing great through this recent cold spell, keeping the house warm and comfortable. I would highly recommend JDL for any HVAC needs"

"Sila was one of three companies I contacted for estimates on replacing my oil-fired systems with heat pumps. I have a boiler and two forced air furnaces, so the work would be extensive. I contacted Sila because their reviews were favorable, they sell Carrier products (which I was leaning toward), and they sell high velocity systems, which I felt might be a good option in the older part of the house where I don't have ducts. I was prepared to really go over the things that work well with ducts in the house, things that don't, and what my general asks were for the systems. The salesman was pleasant enough, but seemed completely uninterested in how I felt my current systems were and what my goals were. I asked for a price on two levels of Carrier (Performance and Inifinity) for the existing forced air systems, and then price me out for a reasonable high velocity system. The sales person who came out was pretty perfunctory and didn't take good notes while we spoke. I didn't think he was really that engaged in my concerns about the routing of high velocity ducting and placement--he just told me how it would have to be. While sometimes that's how things work, I don't think he really addressed my concerns with having all outlets in the ceiling only in the lower level, which would potentially leave me with lots of heat hanging around the ceiling. However, the larger issues were that the bids did not match the requirements for the project. First, he sent only the high velocity bid and nothing for the other systems. When i asked, he sent the other estimate, but only for the Carrier Infinity, omitting that I specifically asked for a bid on doing those systems with a Performance line that would allow me to use my existing non-communicating thermostats. In addition, their bid was the most expensive and their attention to detail seemed poor for a $40,000+ job. Spending less than an hour with me and sending lackluster boilerplate bids (with all kinds of language that should not have been in the bid, like references to other brands, etc.). A bid should be custom for the buyer and tailored for match what I'm asking for. This lack of attention to detail and customer focus lost Sila this job."
