"I had the pleasure of using this service last August. Last year my AC went out and another company wanted to charge me over $800. to repair it. Being outraged and "hot" I called Advantage. Two very handsome men not only quickly repaired it, but the bill was a little over $100. They were amazing, polite, professional and now that a friend is asking for an AC company to repair her broken AC, I am referring my friend to Advantage. ** Fast forward two years.. my heat goes out during the coldest weekend in years. Xmas weekend, I was without heat. I stayed in my bedroom running two portable heaters. I could not wait for Tuesday. I called Advantage Heating and Cooling. I was told the soonest appointment would be on Thursday, but the young lady promised if any cancellations, she would call. THANK THE G-Ds there was a cancellation. Alex Meyers arrived and did a complete inspection. I held my breath for the worst news. Alex was AMAZING, he fixed it for under $200. AND gave me a VERY honest explanation and advice. I LOVE THIS COMPANY. I would NEVER use anyone else, EVER!!!"

"3 days prior to the storm of 2026 I tried to get Woodfin to fix the starter on my generator that they said was bad and all I got was the runaround. I was promised an overnight delivery fee for the starter but was not notified whether they received it or didn?t. They do good installing it but never told me there was a recall on the starter so I?m out. No more Woodfin for me "

"We got assigned this vendor through American Home Shield on June 7. Our AC unit was not holding 79 degrees in our upper floor. The tech came 5 days later and diagnosed a leak in the evaporator coil. They replaced it one week later ($3.5k). The following day, the unit was functioning worse than prior to the installation not holding 80 degrees in any of the floors. We called and came again 3 days later. One would expect they would come earlier as it was a follow up. They told us they need it to re-adjust the temperature of the compressor, apparently (they told us) this is common after coil replacement (why this was not done first? no idea!). One day after the visit, the unit still cannot hold 80 degrees in both floors. It is obvious the tech has no idea of what he is doing. At this point I am not sure the initial diagnosis and replacement of the coil (with the consequent fees of adding new refrigerant, $1800 + hand labor+ modifications, all not covered by AHS) was correct. Extremely frustrated experience. I would not recommend this vendor."

"There are not enough words to describe how ecstatic I am with the service provided from TG & his team, and 5 stars is not enough! Long story short, I am a first time home buyer and was convinced to take a home warranty in exchange of replacing my HVAC which was from 1990. In January I began the process of trying to have the unit replaced before my warranty expired in May and the hot summer days returned. I battled with the contracting company for 5 months and they dropped the contract 4 days before my warranty expired. After all the stress and anxiety I decided to let the warranty expire and reached out the Garner's. Dave was at my place almost immediately, they were able to find a "unicorn unit" to fit my special situation, and had everything done in less than 2 weeks at an extremely competitive price. I grew up with the Garner's so I already felt at ease having their company take over, but I did not expect them to exceed expectations to that extent. Brandon, Zach and Nolan came to my house to do the change out. They were polite, clean, respectful and all around amazing. They even mopped up my hallway floors when they were done! I will never waste my time working with another HVAC company & will recommend these guys to anyone 100 times over."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Williamsburg, VA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
