"Everything went well and smooth with their help. I got the proposal with all details at the same day when they came to do the estimate. Our old furnace was built on 1971, and it was in a closet next to the water heater tank. When one other company came to estimate, they wanted to cut a furnace size hole on the wall facing the hallway to fit the machine and we have to find a constructor or handy man to finish, like to build a door or make it look good, but G&S figured out an easy way, which is to turn the machine toward another direction and eventually only cut a vent on the wall. It took two days for all the installation, and they cleaned up when they left and everything looked clean and nice. They also listened to customers. We didn't want the heat pump to be right next to the stairs of our deck, so they chose a spot which was few feet away from the closest spot without any question. We appreciate for that, since the wind blows out from heat pump is kind of strong, and we feel comfortable with where it is at now. One thing I really like is they were on time, and they called around 30 minutes ahead before them showed up. They also take care all the paperwork for the PUD rebate, Costco 10% shop card, and city permits, and all we do is waiting their call to arrange the time."

"StarDuct Pros were referred to me by my coworker. I was in desperate need to have my crawl space cleaned after unwanted guest (mice) decided to take shelter under my home and made it smell terrible. Simon, came and did a thorough clean up of the crawl space, and replaced the vapor barrier ( the plastic cover) which was left dirty by my unwanted guest. "At every oil change they do a complete check of the vehicle and let me know about immediate and possible future issues with the vehicle. Unlike the oil change chain outlets their analysis is honest. They keep the whole place clean, the service bays included, At times when I have called or stopped in with immediate problem they either do the work at that time or find a time to work me in that or the next day.
My experience with them has been so good that my next car will be a Toyota so I can continue have them work on my cars. They also work on Volvo, BMW and Audi, but I don't want one of those.
Two things that would make it nicer.
1. Coffee for customers
2. Either a courtesy vehicle or ability to provide ride to and from when work to be performed will exceed couple of hours.

"When I first called to make an appointment I expected to leave a message but someone answered right away and I booked a day and date in no time. So that was great! The day of the service Jacob called to say he would be running late and he arrived in the time frame he said. He explained everything very thoroughly. I have a dog and a cat so I had to keep an eye on them while he did all that work because there would be a back door left open where the hose would be fed through. It took him about 2-3 hours. He also explained and showed me how to clean the air filters. He also showed me a few items that he found while cleaning the ducts. I purchased the service through Angie's list and I also paid an extra $25 per bathroom fan to be cleaned. I would use their services again."

The guys at Home Squad found out that because of the age of the tank and there was sediment buildup, it caused the tank to leak. "We just completed a seismic retrofit of our 1910 house and were getting ready to have the siding replaced. Since we had gone to the expense and effort to retrofit the house, we also wanted to install and earthquake valve on our gas line to shut the gas off in the event of an earthquake. Additionally, we needed to add more clearance between the house and the gas line to accommodate the new siding.

I contacted Evan Conklin after researching on Angies List. He seemed very knowledgeable and accommodating. He also seems to not play the weird pricing game that some of the larger plumbing companies give. He gave me a price estimate over the phone and we set up an appointment.

I had to move the appointment one due to a scheduling conflict, he was very polite and accommodating.

The plumber that came to do the work was very polite and knowledgeable. He performed the work quickly, explained everything we was going to do, made sure I was happy with the placement of the pipes. After he was finished he had to go in the house to make sure all the gas appliances were re-lit and working. He even went to the extra effort of making sure I wans trained on how to relight our water heater pilot.

In the end, the price was less than the estimate, which is rare, but obviously welcome.

Overall, a good experience. I'm relatively new to Seattle, and have not had much plumbing work done here, but I think I have found my plumber for when I do in the future."
