"On time, polite and knowledgeable. Marty was great to work with. He did a thorough inspection of my home, took air samples and gave me a lot of useful information. We later found the issue/s ourselves. In hindsight he would possibly have found it of he had inspected the roof, but he did not."

"Since this work is technical and specialized, I cannot judge work quality and value for money, but the overall experience was very positive. They came on time, were pleasant and efficient, and inspired confidence in their ability to do a proper job. They were totally professional. They called to give me the results as soon as they were available, with an emailed written report a few days later. I chose this firm to test for asbestos in a ceiling because they do only testing, not the remediation work should the result be positive."

"I needed someone to mainly check for air quality conditions related to HVAC system issues. Although mold is also of a concern, that was their main focus and I needed a more expansive outlook. Thanks"

"Mr. Todd was very informative, very patient and considerate answering my questions and concerns. I was very worried about the mold status in my home. However, with all the quality test that were done, I feel relieved and more aware of what I need to do moving forward. In addition, the overall air quality of the home was checked and more. I'm grateful I found a trusted service to support with my families needs. It was worth every penny for the amount of PEACE I have! Many Blessings to you and your Team! Keep doing what you do!"

"We used A1 exterminators for several years. In the beginning we used them to change the dehumidifier filters. We started using them because the previous owners had used them to redo the crawl space and install a the humidifier. At some point we also started using them for pest control. We did their Guardian Plan from beginning. The guys they sent over were nice and courteous and always helpful. We were pleased with service until we were selling our home and records of services provided were requested and they refused to give them. We were needing information on if they had caulked some cracks in the foundation when they sealed everything when the dehumidifier was installed. I even had the previous owner call and give them permission to release this information. They accused me of trying to get information out of them that didn't belong to me. Funny thing is, there were absolutely no issues, but they were immediately defensive and accusing me of being in a bad place with our buyers. She talked over me to the point and was so rude, I told her to shut up. That was the end of anything I ever wanted to do with them. Had the owner of this company not been the rudest person I have ever dealt with in my life, I may have left them a good rating. Based on how she treats a customer of 4 or 5 years, I could never recommend them to anyone. Read their reviews yourself. Their bad customer service speaks for itself. When I mentioned this company to the buyers real estate agent, he confirmed that they weren't reputable as did the escrow company that did our closing."

"Use them for a VA loan inspection. There was a small area that had signs of termite damage, the wood around this piece had been replaced years ago, there were holes for treatment all around the house and there was not visable signs of termites. We agreed to have the house treated, it had been a while and they came back in a couple of days and did the treatment. When the report was sent to the VA loan agent they wrote that there was signs of minor termite damage but no proof that it had been previously treated. Our loan officer tried to contact them several times with no luck, in the end the loan officer "waivered" the termite inspection requirement so the re-fi could go through. Very stressful all the way around."

"Although the project was delayed in the beginning by horrible weather, the quality never suffered.  Geoff wisely chose to let "Mother Nature" have her way instead of trying to rush the work. The result is an addition that I'm convinced is the strongest part of the house. Geoff frequently worked long days to keep the project moving.

"It was wonderful. I spent quite a bit more than the big deal and it was for an additional I can't remember what it is called. The air duct cleaning was great and then when we talked about this other addition to the system I went along with it because I have animals in the house and I have bad allergies and I wasn't sure after I got it, if it was good investment since then I have changed my mind, it is an excellent investment and it repaired my air completely and my health is much better from having it. I would use them again."

FAQs for indoor air quality testing projects in Chesapeake, VA

You should test your home's air quality if you or your family experience health problems like allergies or respiratory issues, as these could be linked to indoor contaminants. Also, consider testing if you're concerned about mold, radon, carbon monoxide, or if you've recently had home construction, demolition, excavation, or remodeling that could have released chemicals into your indoor air.

An indoor air quality test typically takes one to three hours to complete. After the inspection, you'll receive a detailed written report within two to 10 days. The evaluation includes comprehensive air sampling from all designated areas in your home. Your specialist will review the findings with you and provide clear guidance on steps to take if any issues are found, helping ensure your indoor environment meets health and safety standards.

A certified indoor air quality consultant or inspector is the right professional to perform your indoor air test. While some home inspectors have certifications, they often subcontract this specialized work to trained professionals with advanced tools. This expert will thoroughly evaluate air samples from every area in your home and clearly explain the findings to you. Be sure to confirm your tester's credentials before scheduling your service.
