But when we left town for a few days and left the air conditioning on for our cat, we came back to a nightmare. The heat was running at full blast and the house was well over 100°F. It was dangerously hot?this could have killed our cat. This wasn?t a small mistake. It was a serious failure, either in how the system was installed or configured. There was no warning, no alert?just a sealed-up house baking in extreme heat. If you care about the safety of your pets or children, I strongly recommend you do not use Apex for heating and cooling. When I called to report it, they acted like I was an inconvenience. I was told ?someone might call back,? and that was it. No urgency, no concern, no accountability. After installation, we found that the humidifier was missing and instead received an April Aire Merv-11 filter, which was never mentioned. When we contacted Cameron, he claimed we misunderstood and refused to resolve the issue without extra charges. Customer service was unaware of the filter and kept confusing it with the humidifier. Despite escalating the issue to management, they sided with Cameron and refused to honor the promotion.
