"Could not recommend more. Prices were very reasonable for install of an AC unit, and we had gotten multiple quotes before deciding on HVAC Doctor. Everything was done incredibly fast from the free quote to the install. The owner was very straightforward and honest which we appreciated more than anything. We will be using them for our hvac needs going forward and will be recommending them to others."

"Installed a new furnace for us during the winter when we needed it the most. They were able to install it 2 days after we asked for them to service our old existing furnace in which they showed us why it needed to be replaced. Quick and clean instillation with two knowledgeable and friendly employees."

"The plumber was on time for this job and explained what needed to be done. He gave me several options about dealing with the leaky valve because he was able to tighten it so it wouldn't leak; however it was old and would likely need to be replaced sooner rather than later. The whole thing took about 45 minutes. I have also used these plumbers for a new water heater, replacing a toilet, and twice for repairs of leaking situations."

"It went very well. The sales rep Greg did a great job communicating, explaining. we had to reschedule once but it worked out fine. The project completed very fast from consultation to finishing installing. HomeDepot promotion and Excel rebates make the price more affordable. Special call out to thank the installers - Mat & Jeff. They did a great job putting everything together and cleaned up everything after. They are courteous, understanding and listening to our needs. explained well how do I maintain my old humidifier still in place after replacing with a new furnace. Great job overall. Thank you!"

"It went well, except for the cost!! I scheduled the appointment via the company's website. Dave and Tim were punctual - they arrived on time. They are quite friendly and knowledgeable. They checked the broken faucet and suggest two options for a replacement, a similar type faucet or a frost-proof one but with an extra cost. I decided to go with the latter The only con with this deal was the $89 charge just for driving from Lake Elmo to my location in Woodbury - a distance that is 7-8 miles. I was charged that amount even though I decided to hire them for the job on the same trip. Frankly, I was not happy about that. The other issue, which was explained to me before the work performed and I take responsibility for it, they cut into the basement ceiling in order to access the pipe. They left the cut area open. However, they told me that ahead of the work. Another minor thing, they didn't cover the carpet when they cut through the ceiling nor did they clean the debris after finishing."

"JOE YEAGER, DID THE WORK AND I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH HIS PUNCTUALITY, PROFESSIONALISM AND COURTESY. WHEN HE CAME TO DO THE ESTIMATE HE SAID HE DIDN'T REALLY THINK THERE WAS ANY NEED TO REMOVE ANY MORE OF THE ASBESTOS THAN HAD BEEN DONE MANY YEARS AGO. I ASKED HIM TO DO SO ANYWAY BECAUSE THE COMPANY WHO WAS GOING TO INSTALL THE BOILER HAD SHOWN ME HOW MUCH OF THE ASBESTOS THEY THOUGHT SHOULD BE REMOVED AND HE COMPLIED WITH MY REQUEST."

FAQs for central humidifier installation and replacement projects in Cottage Grove, MN

A crawl space dehumidifier is a worthwhile investment, particularly in humid climates or if you've noticed musty odors, mold growth, or wood deterioration. Though costs range from $3,000 to $9,200, this investment helps prevent structural damage that could require far more expensive repairs later. Beyond structural protection, a properly dehumidified crawl space contributes to better overall indoor air quality and may reduce allergens throughout your home. Consider having a professional assessment to determine if your specific situation warrants this investment.

Addressing crawl space moisture effectively often requires a combination of solutions. A complete approach includes encapsulation plus dehumidifier installation. For minor moisture issues, a basic dehumidifier starting at $1,500 may suffice, while severe problems in larger spaces could require systems costing up to $14,000. The most effective moisture control strategy depends on your specific conditions, making a professional assessment valuable for determining the most cost-effective approach for your situation.

For a crawl space measuring 1,500 square feet, you'll need a dehumidifier with a daily capacity of 30 to 50 pints, with unit costs ranging from $150 to $600. Your local climate and existing moisture levels may necessitate adjusting this capacity—homes in particularly humid regions might benefit from higher-capacity units. Professional installers can measure your specific humidity conditions and recommend equipment that is appropriately sized, balancing initial cost with operating efficiency for your unique situation.

Crawl space dehumidifiers add $300 to $500 to your annual electricity expenses when operating continuously. Energy-efficient models reduce this consumption by roughly 15 to 30% compared to standard units. Most contemporary dehumidifiers feature humidity sensors that automatically cycle operation based on current conditions, helping manage energy usage. Proper crawl space encapsulation significantly improves efficiency by creating a controlled environment that requires less dehumidifier runtime, thereby reducing ongoing electricity costs.
