"One Person’s Thoughts A career focused upon business strategy for global companies has taught me that there are two types of relatively successful (lifetime duration unknown) to successful (long-term over many years) companies; • Good companies • Great companies. Good companies focus upon sales and immediate revenue events. Immediate sales revenue is a singular event -- once the revenue is in the till future revenue requires significant renewed efforts and becomes much less predictable. Sustaining a company upon immediate revenue is a difficult, high energy, and high cost of customer access process. Great companies focus upon building brand through long-term customer partnerships. Building these customer partnerships requires expending much more effort and customer care up front, while micro-focusing upon building long-term sustainable revenue from families of parents, children, grandchildren and family relations. Great company customer partnerships also lead a to durable, sustainable brand image for companies; recognizing that brand image is not build by money and/or advertising, but by understanding and humanity on a customer by customer basis. Brand image is customer experiential and cannot be created through advertising, marketing or immediate sales. Building customer partnerships requires understanding and customer compassion through five phases of partnership: • Initial information and needs analysis • Marketing and sales • Customer care by actively and compassionately resolving all customer questions and concerns • Installation with open information sharing about timing, concerns, issues, and challenges • Customer follow up and care – touching the customer during and immediately after the install event and in an on-going manner at least three to four times a year after that.
