"Great!! Two different handymen, two different occasions. Both men were professional and friendly. Replacing the interior door took some time, and it was worth it! Dean was meticulous (and went up and down the stairs so many times) to make sure the door fit properly in the frame and opened easily over the carpet (which the previous door never did). Separately our front stoop needed repair - pulling off the existing stone/brick that was deteriorating and replacing it with bluestone. James does beautiful work - he is a master in masonry. Coming out of lockdown and having both men show up with all the necessary PPE put me at ease - they were being very careful and following all the guidelines. I've already scheduled them for more work. Well worth the price!!"

He got back to me promptly and Arrived right on time and did a great job servicing my two garage doors with all new hardware including rollers, springs and pulleys. His price was excellent and more reasonable than the 5 other estimates I received from other garage door companies which is why I went with Jay. "I can’t say enough good things about Alex. I found him on a home repair site to assemble my IKEA wall unit. He quoted a price so much less than others I thought he was too good to be true. When he came to do the job we talked about all the other jobs I had and he said he could handle them all. He even arranged for a painter as I was in need of having my whole house repainted. He took care of everything. He fixed a broken chair, applied grout around my tub, fixed and replaced my folding closet door and replaced my kitchen light fixture. He is my angel. He is polite, professional, and reliable. Whatever you need done call him first. If it’s not in his wheelhouse he’ll tell you. His prices are more than reasonable. "Carlos was punctual and completed the job ahead of schedule. He took the extra effort to ensure the quality of his work met my satisfaction. I needed him to make a 'custom-made' corner cabinet for me. I ordered three 6 inch shallow cabinets that when pieced together would run from floor to ceiling. However, because they were to go into a corner, the backs had to be cut out. Then he had to install shelving to fit the corner while lining each shelf up with the 6 inch cabinet shelf portion. Every shelf lines up perfectly. I had the crown molding for him, but I was curious as to how he was going to finish-off the outside of the cabinet where the pieces were inset into the wall. Not to worry, Carlos manufactured some side-molding for it for a complete finished look. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is superb. He even made sure the top of this corner cabinet lined-up with the top of my existing cabinets. This is the 2nd time I've had Carlos do a job for me. He's going to do my bathroom next!"

"The floor repair was excellent. Even my contractor, who was doing other work in the house and tends to be critical said how well the repair was done. The rest of the process was also excellent. We paid extra for dustless service, which. while it does not eliminate all dust, in my view, reduced it greatly. The only reason that i did not give them 5's across the board is that i had some minor damage to some of the furniture they moved.

"The boards on the porch of our house were rotting and needed to be
replaced, during the quoting process we decided on the materials to use we wanted Ipe boards (Expensive at $6.25 per linear foot ... but we felt well worth the price) Trust Builders LLC gave us the best quote of all received ranging between $13,000
to $22,000.  They came to our house after getting all of the necessary permits and arranging a trash skip.  Jim the foreman and master carpenter modeled supports for the roof that was sagging, removed the columns and boarding. 
The framing and footings under the porch were then inspected and found to be unsuitable for use.  Further funding was
required for the new footings and framing, these were added to the original quote of $13,000 and came to around $2000 (cost price for materials).
The porch was completed to spec and within budget within two weeks.
We are thrilled with the new porch and are probably going to hire Trust Builders LLC to build out our attic space."

"There were a lot of issues initially and I contacted Angie’s List and you were able to help us resolve it. What happened was that I got the deal, I wanted my daughter to use it because the kind of windows that they were going to install weren’t appropriate for my house and I felt that my daughter can profit from that under the circumstances better than I could. So she took the deal and it was not so good initially because apartments were not kept but it turned out fine because they got the windows done and they were pleased with them. They honored the price for two windows. The problem was with scheduling and that sort of thing. The issue was not really honoring the commitment to come at a certain time or to get the work done by a certain time. They did a good job of installation once they did it. I only had one contact with them and I wasn’t happy with that because he wanted to do a complete inspection of the house and I was focused on the windows not so much so on insulation. So I knew that wasn’t good for me and I wasn’t happy with that interaction but here again, in all fairness my daughter was satisfied with the interaction that she had."

"When American Jewel installed the door I gave them A grades as I thought they did an excellent job.  But after using the door for a few weeks I noticed the dead bolt didn't close completely, but only about 2/3, and also noticed the screen door was no longer aligned properly, so although it closed and looked right, the door was slightly off and it would no longer lock.  I called American Jewel and they scheduled the installer to return and make the minor corrections.  The installer did not show up.  When I called American Jewel again, they did not return my calls. I complained to Angie's List, and via their complaint resolution process American Jewel contacted me.  They were very apologetic and attributed it to a mix up, accepted responsibility and sent the installer to my home to make the minor corrections.  I would use American Jewel again, despite this hiccup, as my wife and I like the door they installed, feel we received excellent value, and ultimately American Jewel followed through on the minor problems I described and corrected them all."
