"I have a residential Lennox 3 ton heat pump. Only 2 yrs old. At 100 degrees and hotter I could not get our mfg home cooler than 82 degrees. In less that hour he diagnosed the problem being a bad compressor. My 3 ton was only working on 1 ton. He confirmed it with the owner Brian and also called the Lennox Company who made him ho through all the tests again to make sure. My A/C works perfectly now after the other 3 companies just milked us.
