"They were friendly, honest (so many other contractors outright lie to you), accurate with their bid, prompt with keeping the installation appointment and thorough from the initial contact to the completion of the job. Service rep followed up with an inspection after the job was complete. Only 2 things I could say were slightly annoying were the screws left on the garage floor (but I was expecting some anyway from a previous contractor's work) and the fact that the sales rep did not deliver the rebate forms until it was almost too late to claim the rebate."

"It was really good. I mean, they have a good product. The only thing is its really hard to get hold of the owner. GreenStreet- Home Energy Efficiency installed the A/C during the summer and they forgot to activate the heater part. So when it got cold, we couldn't get hold of them. A part of it was great. Another part of it, not being able to get hold of them, an F. They offered us lots of options. Instead of just one size fits all, he did offer high and low, good warranty, bad warranty. There were a lot of considerations on what was the best fit. Well, until they stopped calling us back, the interactions were great. I mean, everything was great. Once the sale was made, after that, it was hard to get hold of them. The work they did turned out good in the end. Yeah, I would consider using their services again in the future. "

"technician came out within the time stated. no freon was offered although it was part of the package to which i paid. i was told that the aged unit needed to be replaced. as well, i was informed that the freon was very expensive for the unit and the levels were far too low to make a difference. he left work needed invoice and stated a representative would be contacting me in the next few days with an estimate for a new system. several weeks passed with no follow-up from the company. when i reached out for the estimate that should have been prepared, i was told there was not enough data to make a determination. a new home visit would be required. the owner worked me into his Saturday schedule. the estimate was very high, even for a Trane system. i do appreciate that he called back after our visit to verify if i wanted to move forward. based on his attention, i felt much better about the previous interaction with the company. nevertheless, this is my review."

"Great! They showed up the day day he told me and 1st thing in the morning started removing old system, by the end of day we had a complete new system cooling the home down. The owner showed me how to use the new thermostat and answed all my questions. Awesome service, I later had a hot water heater installed and they commented on how nice a job the AC contractor did installing my system, they tied up all the ducts nicely, and built a nice platform for the coils to sit on in the attic. I had a couple quotes that were slightly cheaper, but I felt like Ray was honest and not just trying to sell me a new system. Im very happy I chose them and I would highly recommend them, worth every cent!"

"Greetstreet (Home Energy Efficiency) is a small company with trustworthy employees who will do their best to do a good job for you if you hire their services. Greenstreet Home Energy Efficiency just completed a large project at my home, which involved installing a radiant barrier, 2 solar fans, duct sealing, some insulation, and some sub-flooring. I had a couple of small projects done by them before this one. The person who managed and/or performed all the work on my home was Carl. Carl is good at what he does and will do his best to do right by you. Carl did his best to address any concerns I had on the project and was happy to go over any topics associated with the project with me until I was satisfied. For instance, while performing the installation, Carl realized that the initial estimate for the amount of sub-flooring needed was insufficient, once I had gone through the pre-installation walk-through of the project with him. He scheduled another day with me to finish the sub-flooring at my convenience with no extra cost for time or materials. Also, when the insulation was being installed, a wire was compromised that was connected to our smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. Carl offered to get batteries for me so the alarms wouldn’t beep until the connection could be restored, and setup an appointment for an electrician to address the issue at my earliest possible convenience, with no charge. The electrician was courteous and professional and took care of the problem with no issues. Many of their smaller packages include a home energy audit. This is similar to a sales pitch, in that part of the purpose of an energy audit is to determine what can be done to your home to make it more energy efficient. If your home is very energy efficient, they won’t have many recommendations. If it’s not, they may have a lot of them. James was my Home Energy Efficiency Auditor and he’s also good at what he does. He’s familiar with the latest technologies in Home Energy Efficiency and will have a good idea of what’s best for your home depending on what you want to spend, and what rebates/tax credits are available for you if you want to move forward. James didn’t do any pressure selling with me. He told me what he thought would help me save money with my electric bill, and how much the recommended project would cost, and left it at that. If you don’t feel like you’re ready to spend a bunch of money, just tell them that, and that’s fine. The last deal I bought from them prior to having the radiant barrier installed was for $500 dollars’ worth of insulation with an energy audit. At this point I was familiar with the company and their work and decided to go ahead with the radiant barrier, and they rolled my insulation package into that deal. But if I’d only wanted to go with the $500 of insulation instead, they would have been fine with that. What was most important to me was that they were professional and courteo"

"I don’t usually write reviews but I felt it necessary this time. Calahan Construction has come through in the clutch for the second time with my A/C repair. (2 different houses) From here on out Calahan Construction will be my FIRST call. I tried to give opportunities to friends of friends and gotten burned both times. Each time Mr. Calahan has come through to clean up their mess! In both situations previous repair companies offereoptions of new units or extremely high price repairs. Mr. Calahan provided me with pictures and a detailed explanation of my problem and did repairs at a fraction of the cost! Extremely professional and efficient service! I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone in the DFW that need a/c work completed!"

"Dr. Rescue was fantastic, very transparent with pricing, on short notice was able to get me on the books, showed up on time and had the job done quicker than I had expected. Pedro, Edgar & Anthony were the gentlemen that worked on my install, they were very professional, friendly, and great at communicating. They also found additional items that they believe could help me, which I hadn't expected previously, Dr. Rescue called me directly and explained what it was and exactly what the price would be. The price was exact, to the penny, that was quoted to me. In the past I've had services that will quote one price but then charge another, not this time. All in all great to work with and I learned they offer more than just AC services, so I will be using them going forward on any home improvement projects that may pop up."

FAQs for home energy audit projects in Magnolia, TX

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
