"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"

After reading Watry Homes reviews on this site, we contacted them in March. I had reached the point where I no longer wanted to maintain the house, and after researching siding options and speaking to other home owners, was seeking a contractor to install what I believed was the best siding solution, Hardy Plank. It was our intention to have the work done before the summer months, to avoid the disruption and scheduling conflicts which inevitably happen in high season.

Scott Watry came out and inspected/measured the house on March 17, presented window options and gave an overview of the process. Within a week we had an estimate and we gave him the commitment assuming the work would begin as soon as materials were received within a few weeks. The project did not get underway, however, until June 4th, the day I was leaving for two weeks of travel. My wife provided daily updates in my absence, and glowing reviews of Scott's workers, specifically, Paul and Rob who came in and installed the windows and doors. I met these guys later and they are true professionals who pay close attention to detail. The siders were also efficient and meticulous in their work, and cleaned up every day. The crew had a few guys, but Roberto, who appeared to be their lead, was very responsive to every question or request, and went out of his way to be accommodating. Splattered paint on a portion of our patio and sill appeared to be their only misstep.

In the end, we have a job that met our expectations in terms of quality, fit and finish. It was the punch list of several small items and requests which was emailed to Scott in mid-June that made the final conclusion of the project a little rocky. It turned out that part of the roof over our den did not receive adequate flashing necessary to prevent a leak that ensued after five days of rain. Scott insisted that it was the result of layers of caulk installed by someone else, inadequately sealing an inside corner of the roof. Dan, who was sent out later to make the repair, said the caulk and sealing had been done by their siders, and was still wet. Scott agreed to place a drywall patch in the interior ceiling where there was water damage, but I spent the better part of a day painting the ceiling, trim and walls to original condition once this was done. This put a damper on an otherwise great experience with Watry.

We totally respect Watry's workers and the diligence they exemplified every day. My feelings about Scott with him not taking ownership of the leak and the damage it caused was unfortunate because it would have been so easy to simply do so without casting blame on others. I also feel it would have been appropriate to personally stop by at the project's conclusion (today), to ensure he had a satisfied customer. As it was, he called and asked me to give a check for final payment to his worker before he left, without asking me if I was completely satisfied. In my view, the size and scope of our project would dictate that he do so.

However, I would not be hesitant to recommend them as a reference primarily because of his crews.

"Wow, what a great contractor! Jeff, Joe, and Company are simply the best. Last spring and summer (2021) JJB painted our home beautifully. In the process, they discovered significant repair issues that needed prompt attention. They kept us well informed throughout the process, and our home was transformed. We were so thrilled with their work, that we engaged JJB to further transform our home in 2022 by adding a large covered porch (including beautiful new windows), and a matching pergola to the front of our house. What an amazing transformation, with incredible curb appeal! Friends and acquaintances sometimes drive right by our home and have to double back, because they can’t recognize it anymore. JJB’s attention to detail, superb customer service, wonderful and friendly crew, and total professionalism are giving us our dream home. We plan to hire them again for two additional projects. I wish we could share photos. Bravo, JJB!"

"I was able to schedule the maintenance myself on the Sears website. It was very easy to use and the results were exactly as I required and requested them. There were simple pulldown menus allowing you to choose the type of merchandise you wanted repaired, then within that the brand, and then, in this case, the size in horsepowers. It then also presented a pulldown of a variety of choices for type of service needed. I believe preventive maintenance was one of them, and that's what I chose.

It already knew my zip code and was able to display a calendar of available dates. Within each available date there was the choice of morning or afternoon, as available. I picked the exact window I wanted on the exact date I wanted, clicked, was shown a price and confirmation of all the details, and I chose to go ahead and book it. I immediately got a confirmation page plus a confirmation email. I saw that I could go back at any time before the appointment and cancel or change it myself.

I liked the deal because around here, I can't find a company that will do maintenance on a snowblower at my home. They insist on your bringing it over (I have no way to haul it), or they charge well over $100 for roundtrip pickup and delivery. Just so you know, Sears also requires that you bring it in if the snowthrower is under 9HP. Mine happens to be exactly 9HP, so I picked the 9HP or above choice and the option for home-based repair came up.

The repairman called about a half hour before he would be arriving at my house, and, sure enough, he got there well within that timeframe. He proceeded to work on the snowthrower, checked and spent some time adjusting the choke and the idle (which are very touchy on my machine, which is getting old--maybe 10 years or so?...I hope that carburetor keeps working), replaced the sparkplug, changed the oil, checked the gasoline, advised me as they do every year about adding fuel stabilizer to the gas (and looked at the bottle to make sure I was using the right one--I was), oiled/greased the major moving parts, operated the machine in all gears forward and reverse, checked the tires. He was courteous and gave advice all the way through.

He was able to take my Sears credit card right at his truck and print out a receipt for me. The price was exactly as quoted, plus sales tax. There's a 90-day warranty on the service (not sure how that kicks in on a preventive maintenance visit--maybe if the machine won't start?).

Fortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to use the machine yet in the snow, but I'm sure I will get that chance very soon. I used Sears for this last year, too, and the snowthrower worked beautifully during a winter of frequent and heavy use.

Just so you know, Sears contracts with A&E Factory Service for this, at least in this part of the country. The repair person arrived in a truck that looked exactly like the one at http://www.aefactoryservice.com. But the deal was conducted by Sears, with a Sears receipt, and I'm assuming that ultimately Sears takes responsibility for the work. It was A&E last year, too. The year before that I used a local who charged more than twice as much including pickup and delivery--wish I could support local businesses, but the difference was too great. I think before that the snow maintenance people came in a Sears truck, so they may have phased over to A&E over just the past couple of years. If you're looking for a little more info on A&E specifically, see if they have their own listing here on Angie's List."

"Donnie came out to look over the job and give us a price. He was on time professional, knowledgable, and sincere - my husband and I both felt very comfortable with him. He sent a written quote via email latter that day as promised. When we finally had most things out of the basement we called him back. He came out again, we added a few things to the original plan. He was reassuring that he could start on our desired date and that we would be happy with his workers. They came on our desired day to start. We were skeptical but hopeful. By the end of the first day we were thrilled with all the workers! No way we could have hoped for better. Norma the team leader was unbelievable working alongside  the men with suits and masks in hot summer weather. They were prompt everyday and worked hard and quickly and were neat and clean.  Everything was just right when they left. I highly recommend MasterCat if you need mold remediation and want your property treated like it was theirs. "
