"I hired FlueTech to repair my discontinued gas log fireplace based on the good reviews here. I had a completely different experience with them, feeling they were either grossly incompetent, or possibly dishonest (in order to sell a more expensive service). I'm not sure which, but either way I give them an F rating for total failure. They said the PILOT LIGHT didn't go on (it did but they didn't bother to put a match to it as the affixed label clearly states to do), that it would be $1500 to repair IF they could find original manufacturer parts, but they couldn't (working parts are readily available on the Internet from other manufacturers). Their only resolve for me was to put in a new insert at a cost of $10,000-$15,000 with permits. I declined. I recounted the above to a manager who waived the bill for the service call and said he'd look in to my complaint and call me back. Never heard from him again, after almost 3 weeks. I then hired MR. CHIMNEY. Mike was knowledgeable, honest and quickly diagnosed my unit and got it working. It was a simple fix, I just needed a new receiver and remote at a cost of $369. Even though my model is older and discontinued he came prepared with all the parts on his truck. I highly recommend using Mr. Chimney and steering clear of FlueTech."

"we sold our house and the buyers insisted that the chimney was inspected so that they could use it. Their chimney guy gave them a load of bull with a quote of over 12k. We called 1 Hour Chimney, they came out right away and went over the details of the previous quote. Turns out that the previous quote was a load of garbage, and we were able to fix all of the necessary issues for half the price. The installers cleaned up after themselves, were courteous and very nice people. Very nice staff in the office and would recommend to anyone who needs repair work on their fireplace/chimney."

I call them, and was told that they had no record of ever coming to my home. I waited a bit, called them again, and they sent another person to provide an estimate. The estimate was close to the first one. And again, I hear nothing from them afterwards, in spite of 3 phone calls asking for a written estimate and for scheduling the job. Then I gave up and hired another company."

"A small flat roof was replaced on the extension of my house in November, 2018 as well as a roof on our shed. At the end of 2021 the house roof leaked through the high hats in the ceiling. I tried to contact the contractor with no success and had to hire another contractor to make repairs. Recently, we experienced more leaks. Two separate contractors have informed me that the material used to replace the roof was outdated and poorly installed. The roof is only 3.5 years old and needs to be replaced again."
