"We had work done from them several years ago and we noticed water damage in our fireplace. They came out and honored the warranty with no issues or gotchas. They made it right and fixed all the issues including repairing the water damaged fireplace insert. Stefan was a pleasure to work with and explained everything. I would recommend American Professional Chimney without reservation for chimney or gas fireplace work."

"Tony and his colleague showed up and got straight to work.  The men were careful about tracking any dirt into the house and used shoe covers.  The job took about 30 minutes to complete and Tony was a wealth of information on how to use the wood burning fireplace and gave suggestions on using starter wood .  They inspected the fireplace and advised I needed two tiles to be replaced and gave me an estimate; along with the $150 credit from the Angie's List purchase the estimate was less than the purchase price for one tile from Home Depot.
I was happy with the overall service and would use them again.

"as soon as I plugged in what I needed on Angie's List, I got a phone call from Ambient. They were able to come out next-day and install a new system, as well as diagnosing that the HVAC system installed in my house three years ago was a nine year old unit (at the time, now 12 yrs old), among other things the initial technicians messed up, with improper ductwork and no insulation in the attic. They were done in 7 hours! Everyone was super friendly."

"We had previously had a section of our interior brick wall removed in order to gain access to pipes behind the wall. The masonry company that took out the brick did not do a careful job nor did they save any of the bricks. I contacted BT Stone after I purchased a "deal" from them. Bill came out and looked at the wall and told me what would be involved. The original brick that would be needed was discontinued. I was not happy with what would be available so it was decided that they would take brick from another section of the wall and use that original brick in the area where the original problem was located. Then they used the new brick to replace the original brick but in a less conspicuous area. They did a great job and worked additional long hours to complete the work in one day.

Additionally, we had a large gap at the bottom of our outside brick steps and Bill had bricks cut and put in that area and he did not charge us for that work.

Bill and his entire team were extremely professional and easy to work with. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

We have some other minor work that also needs to be performed and we will be contacting them.

"Everything went smoothly and was a positive experience. There was a good variety of stones at the business sight and we took pictures of the stones to give us a couple days to make up our mind. We then went back a second time to look at the stones and confirm our decision. Both times, we received friendly greetings and no pressure to quickly make up our minds. We were told that it would take about two weeks to cut and polish the stone, but we were pleasantly surprised to find it completed within a week. Except for the face to face meetings, most of our communication occurred via email."

"The Estimator was very nice and responded quickly to setup the visit and schedule the work for an old DC home with galvanized piping. The 2 installers (one very nice - Chris) did good work and cleaned up well, but didn't communicate the issues that popped up! This was irritating. They left although there were leaks and sewage coming through the kitchen sink when you turned on the bathroom sink etc. The installers claimed someone was scheduled to come the next morning, but that wasn't true because of the communication issues. Also, they promised a plumber would show up on the same day as the stoppage, but they never showed up or called. They apologized the next day, but my elderly mom still couldn't use her bathroom on the 2nd floor and had to go down to the basement to use the restroom for 5 days. They even mentioned that I had to pay for snaking the pipes although we had no blockage until the installers finished their work. The Estimator got an installer/repair tech Chris Hardesty (2nd Chris in the company) to snake and remove the stoppage (for free how nice) and fix all of the remaining issues. He is a great tech!!! He is the reason I gave an overall rating of a B. He was an "A" but the other service averaged to a "B". Thanks Chris!!! If you don't have an older home, then you should be fine, but if you do good luck with finding out promptly."

Yes, a chimney liner is essential. It prevents dangerous heat and toxic gases from reaching surrounding materials, reducing fire risks and structural damage.
