"they reported that they did the best they could and they needed to do a chemical clean which was $1,200, and that there had probably been a chimney fire and they would write the report for insurance claim because if so, there would be $4-5k worth of damage. Scared me to death. I got a second opinion, and no such fire. If I had paid the $1200 i would still be left with a non-functioning chimney. Really felt it was a scam and I will get a 3rd opinion before just dropping that kind of money on something that still wouldn't work until I invested another $3k to actually address the issues of the fireplace."

"The Daniels & Daniels team did a phenomenal job remodeling our basement; framing, electrical, and drywall work. The entire team was great to work with; always professional and went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. I’ll be contacting them again in the future for other projects."

"Good quality work, but believe I paid way too much. I paid $109 for 1 hr of services through promotion pre-purchase prior to arrival. Then, $40 for parts and another $180 for regular hourly rate. As a result, I paid $329 for an outlet to be installed. According to google, the national average price for this service is $183. I should have shopped around. Lesson learned. In addition, the worker had no idea about coupon purchased (poor communication with dispatcher) and seemed agitated that it was purchased. He also discreetly slipped a magnet on my washer machine on his way out without my permission. No thanks."

FAQs for brick or stone fireplace installation projects in Louisville, KY

A chimney liner lasts between 15 and 25 years, depending on the material. Aluminum liners last about five years, while cast-in-place liners can last up to 50 years. Regular professional inspections can reveal signs of deterioration, such as cracking or crumbling chimney walls, ensuring necessary repairs are made to maintain structural safety and efficiency.

Yes, a chimney liner is essential. It prevents dangerous heat and toxic gases from reaching surrounding materials, reducing fire risks and structural damage. A well-installed liner safeguards your masonry, directs harmful emissions outside, and enhances heating efficiency. Regular inspections and cleaning maintain your chimney liner’s performance, keeping your home secure and energy-efficient.

Creosote buildup occurs when burning wood releases tar that adheres to the chimney liner, posing a fire hazard. Regular professional chimney inspections and cleanings by qualified chimney sweeps will effectively manage creosote deposits, preventing dangerous conditions and costly repairs.
