"If you have or even think you have mold/fungus issues in your home, Virgil Pelton is the man to call. Not only is he knowledgeable, and professional, he will hold your hand and help you to resolve your issue. I used his recommend remedial company and they were fabulous. He helped me every step of the way from the time I called him to when all was done and no more mold/fungus!! He is honest and reasonable. Please, anyone out there who may have mold issue PLEASE contact Virgil. You want the air tested before and after remedial work. To make sure there is NO more mold spores in the air. He answers any and all questions. And explains everything in detail. He is a very calm guy and he prayed for wisdom before work. And prayed after the final visit. Wow!! He is God sent for me. We dealt with this mold issue since 10/2020. We should have called him first and saved a lot of headache and money$$$."

Small jobs welcome

"I thought he did a good job explaining what he did do but very disappointed they didn't explain that you had to pay a lot extra money to actually find out what kind of mold if any you had. The $199.00 fee they only looked for mold & tested the air quality. If they found any mold it cost a lot more to find out what type. He did say we had mold in our crawl space but not what kind, that cost more money. Overall good for what he did do."

"The service was great. They were professional. Josh, I this he's the owner, he was super fast. He was right on time. Everything was great. He was very clean and tidy. He took some measurement on the air quality but did not get the quality that he needs so he needs to come back. He came back the next day and completed the job without additional charge. He was very thorough, friendly and easy to work with. More importantly, he guaranteed the air quality."

"Cory from the Flood Guys was just here and did an inspection of my crawl space which is only 18" high. He took pictures and explained
everything clearly to me. He found the source of my odor problem and recommended what needed to be done to fix it. Since the water damage had dried up, the problem needed a more holistic approach (air intake, vapor barrier). He said he could spray something on it, but that was only a temporary fix and didn't want me to waste my time and money on that and exchange one smell for another. So he recommended contacting the businesses that do the kind of repair that I need. And he didn't charge me for the inspection and evaluation. What a nice, and very knowledgeable, person. I highly recommend him and his company.

"Scheduling was very responsive - actually was able to schedule much quicker than I would have expected.     Crew showed up on-time, and finished quickly.    The quality of the work is great, and the cost was reasonable.

"We had unexpected flooding situation from our dishwasher into the area underneath our kitchen sink. James was able to come out later that afternoon. Apparently, the first plumber that had had first installed the dishwasher had botched the job and it was just a matter of time before disaster happened. He was able to explain that the tubing used was too long--and apparently not up to code either--and causing (if I remember correctly) some air pressure issues.

While he was underneath the kitchen sink, he also pointed out a safety issue with our garbage disposal while he was down there. He said it would be simple for us to fix and told us how, but was also willing to come back at a later date if we couldn't figure it out. He's super polite, fairly-priced, cleans up his work, and seems like he is always concerned about doing a job well done."

"We received three estimates on this work, and SD Water Damage/Restoration was almost 5K less than the two others, who were also on Angie's List. The workers arrived on time (or slightly early) for the estimate meeting and on work days. The woodwork was outstanding, and the workmen even made small repairs at no cost on several drawers. Our impression of Mr. Bennett, who did the actual woodwork, was that he was a craftsman of the highest quality and took pride in his work on every level. If we had it to do again, we would have draped off the living room, as the sanding required extensive cleaning afterward. We would recommend this company for honesty, integrity and value to anyone."

"One air conditioner went very well.  The other air conditioner required more because I did not want to have to take it out when the season changes.  Harry and Ro came up with a great solution that was beautifully done. I am very pleased with the results and plan to use them again in the future.  The only drawback was it ended up costing more than the original bid because of the design and time to complete the project."

FAQs for indoor air quality testing projects in Olympia, WA

You should test your home's air quality if you or your family experience health problems like allergies or respiratory issues, as these could be linked to indoor contaminants. Also, consider testing if you're concerned about mold, radon, carbon monoxide, or if you've recently had home construction, demolition, excavation, or remodeling that could have released chemicals into your indoor air.

An indoor air quality test typically takes one to three hours to complete. After the inspection, you'll receive a detailed written report within two to 10 days. The evaluation includes comprehensive air sampling from all designated areas in your home. Your specialist will review the findings with you and provide clear guidance on steps to take if any issues are found, helping ensure your indoor environment meets health and safety standards.

A certified indoor air quality consultant or inspector is the right professional to perform your indoor air test. While some home inspectors have certifications, they often subcontract this specialized work to trained professionals with advanced tools. This expert will thoroughly evaluate air samples from every area in your home and clearly explain the findings to you. Be sure to confirm your tester's credentials before scheduling your service.
