"I put off replacing my furnace b/c of so many bad experiences…..& I wanted to do some research before hiring someone to replace it. Unfortunately it went out again & I needed someone immediately. I took a chance & called Armstrong after reading reviews. They came out quickly, recommended replacement & provided all information up front. They thoroughly addressed all my concerns…. they were professional, on time and treated my home like their own. I’m very satisfied"

"My experience with C3 was wonderful, start to finish. Bryan, unlike other folks who gave me an estimate, took time to talk with me, explain everything in detail, and was available as needed throughout the project. He has also been great about promptly providing the names of good companies for other needs I had, i.e. a plumber or someone to check out possible water damage. The crew were prompt, polite, and very patient with my questions throughout the process, as was the office staff. I would not hesitate to hire this company again!"

"I was referred to Element after going without heat for so many years only using 1 lg base board heater in a 1200 sq ft rancher house. After receiving my double electric bill.I knew I had to try and do something. Greg came out assessed the hobe recommended a Split mini system which is ductless and suppose to be cost efficient.I am still in denial with my last power bill with Dominion VA Power.I have been in the home since 95 and never had the bill been doubled.I am curious to see what my next bill will be The Element team Greg & Eric definite know their trade & take pride in their work. They were punctual and coordinate all aspects of the job. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to upgrade, repairs or even if you have questions like I did. I never even knew these mini split systems existed. They are convenient heat & cooling combined so I am moving in the right direction I believe. I am just so blessed I do not have to do me up on clothing anymore. I am blessed. "

FAQs for heat pump repair or service projects in Richmond, VA

Heat pumps move air to cool or warm your home during different seasons. In cold weather, they extract heat from the outdoors and bring it inside to warm your home. In warm weather, they remove heat from your home to keep it cool. This efficient heat transfer increases indoor comfort, improves energy efficiency, and reduces the need for additional heating systems.

Replacing a heat pump costs between $4,200 and $7,900. The actual cost depends on the type of heat pump. Geothermal models are the most expensive to replace, with the price of the unit plus labor ranging between $6,000 and $20,000. Air source models cost between $4,500 and $8,000 to replace, while the replacement costs for a mini split unit run between $1,300 and $8,000.

The average heat pump is designed to last about 14 years, roughly the same as a central air conditioning system (12 to 15 years). Newer models can last 20 years or more. How long your heat pump lasts depends on how frequently you use it and whether you perform routine maintenance like annual tuneups.
