"My experience with Standard Renewable Energy was fantastic in every way. I got an amazing insulation job for the price and now my house is so warm! Everyone I dealt with from SRE (from the salesperson to the technician) was so nice and professional. I have already told all my friends and neighbors about this company...outstanding customer service!!!"

"My experience with Energy Attic USA went really well. They were very good price wise. They did a good job and they’re the only company that I find that would do a reading and barrier that actually use a metallic foil reading barrier that they would put in instead of spray. That’s what I wanted. It’s supposed to be much better. It’s all under insulation."

"They started it and then they had to get a special part for one of the doors. They did complete the job.  They showed up on time. They were very friendly. I would recommend them. They were good. It was a big deal purchase. There was no extra fee. I thought it was a very fair price."

"A pleasant experience from start to finish. The quoting process was a good two-way discussion, and cordial - no pushy salesman telling you how bad Company X or Y was. Just honest, factual, and straightforward. They quoted us a system with the panels, racking, and inverter which we wanted, not what they were pushing. The quote wasn't the best (hence the 'B' for price) but it did offer the best VALUE when we considered the equipment specification and the stability of the company - an important consideration when looking at a system with a 25 year life! The installation was scheduled by our coordinator, Sherry, and the team showed up when promised and got the job completed on time. Quality of workmanship was first rate and the entire installation was done with care, and tidied away before the team left. Permitting and PG&E inspection were all handled by Sherry, and that was also quick and flawless. Overall, the system they installed easily meets their projections in terms of performance, and it effectively pays for itself. We really couldn't be more pleased with NRG Clean Power and have recommended them to friends and neighbors. We'd recommend you give them your consideration if your looking for solar power."

"My husband worked primarily with Laine Houston during the entire process.  Laine was professional and spent a great deal of time working out the plan for our home.  He personally designed the new duct work for better air flow which enabled us to receive a total of $3.800 in rebates from CPS Energy.  Needless to say we are extremely happy with the new HVAC unit and the service Tasco provided. <br />"

"ON A SUNDAY! Called the company, left a message, and received a call back within 5 minutes. Came to our house 1 hour later, as he stated he would. Checked out our outside unit, and fixed it. I definitely would recommend EZ Air condition and heating to anyone that needs help."

"Someone in Home Depot asked if I would like a free energy audit. I agreed and scheduled for the following Saturday. EAS showed up and took a quick look in the attics and around the front exterior of my house. They recommended radiant barrier and additional insulation. The price seemed reasonable, around $1 a square foot, along with a 10% discount due to the time of year. I told him I would think about. He called me several times afterwards trying to get me to schedule. If you want radiant barrier and insulation, this seem like a good company, but a true energy audit was not performed to extent that I expected. <br />"

"After several other companies came to survey our situation, including an extremely pathetic contractor sent by our home warranty company, we called CoolMark on a recommendation from a family friend. Freddie took his time to explain everything in detail, discussed multiple options based on price and quality, gave suggestions, and set REALISTIC timelines and expectations. He made my wife and I feel completely at ease and confident that we were making the right decisions. Once we chose CoolMark, Freddie worked with our busy and tumultuous work schedules and personally oversaw the project from contract signature to installation completion. Once the installation was complete, Mark the owner took care of all our admin needs. This included financing, City Inspection and he filed our paperwork for a city energy efficiency rebate. With full confidence I recommend CoolMark for anyone's residential AC and heating needs. They are a professional, courteous, company that made sure we had a perfect experience."

"Talked to several attic heat prevention companies around S.A., and decided on Green Energy after comparing product samples from several.  The copper barrier while certainly more expensive, just seemed far superior to other barriers.  Not sure I can scientifically prove the worth of the copper vs. the others, but reading around a bit it all made sense and seemed like a little more peace of mind to handle the San Antonio summer heat.  I will have to see exactly how this set up works when we are hitting 100 consecutively this summer, but confidence is pretty high after the install and inspection of the barrier and vent fans.  Both crews (fans and barrier) were on time, friendly and did efficient work. John was great to deal with and explain things up front, appreciate the time he took and the advice not to unnecessarily overdo other attic spaces we had that may not really need it or provide much benefit.  Fair advice that I took, saving $. <br />"

FAQs for home energy audit projects in San Antonio, TX

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
