"I have an aluminum sunroom. I wanted a storm door added. I’ve had several different people look at it and I’ve run into a couple of problems. Storm room installers only work on the ones that they built. General handymen were afraid that they would end up having a problem with the aluminum panels. Ely had experience with these. He did a beautiful job in less than three hours! He even helped me move some things in my sunroom just to be helpful and nice. He is a great person and very professional. He has experience with things that you would usually hire a painter or contractor for. I put him in my cell phone and I will definitely hire him again if I need to get something done! "On 3/31/23 we contracted with Surface Bella a company that builds and replaces and repairs Trex decks in Greenville SC to upgrade our current deck to trex laid on the diagonal with a picture frame around it. Total cost $16,230. Downpayment of $8,115. On May 3rd, the deck was completed and the final payment of $8,115 was made. On 5/17/23 Southeastern Underdeck {SEUD] company installed a ceiling under the Trex deck. It leaked from day one. SEUD came out and evaluated the ceiling and the deck. They advised it was a flashing problem that Surface Bella did not take care of when they installed the deck. Ben Smith, SEDU, sent an email to us on July 5th stating "Frankly, I'm surprised they didn't address that as they were redecking, as they were looking right at it." After several texts and emails to Tim Davis at Surface Bella, he replied that they would remove the decking on approximately 15 x 13 ft of the deck and that they did not have the flashing material necessary to fix it but they would then come back after it was fixed and re-install the boards for $1800. My husband, Ted, asked if they would split that cost and Tim Davis in another text replied NO. So Ted who is 77 years old, by himself, removed all the necessary decking boards, put new flashing in, and reinstalled the decking boards during July 25 -27 in mid to high 90-degree weather. Attached is a picture of holes in the flashing (you have to enlarge the picture to see] when Surface Bella had removed all the original decking. The next pictures show, when Ted removed the new decking boards there were holes where their installer just placed deck boards on top of the holes!!!!! We would never recommend Surface Bella to anyone! They do sloppy work and don't stand behind it. Tina and Ted Carmody"

Heat pump installations and replacements FAQs
Heat pumps rely on evaporation and condensation processes. The unit transfers heat through the system via a compressed refrigerant. The compressor within the pump circulates the refrigerant through two coils. The first coil evaporates the refrigerant and absorbs warmth from the air. The refrigerant then passes to the second coil, where it condenses, and the unit releases the absorbed heat.
A well-installed and well-maintained heat pump lasts an average of 12 to 20 years. Routine filter changes, annual tune‑ups, and prompt repairs help the equipment reach the upper end of that range, while skipped maintenance or poor installation can shorten its life and raise long‑term costs. Ask your heat pump installation pro for maintenance recommendations so you can get the maximum benefit from your unit.
Heat pumps are most effective in regions where winter lows remain above approximately 40°F. Efficiency starts to drop below that point and falls off sharply near 25°F. If you live in a colder area, look for a model with a high Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) and plan on supplemental heat during deep freezes to keep energy use in check.
The biggest drawbacks are the upfront cost and poor cold-weather performance. Installation can require electrical upgrades or duct changes, and once temperatures fall well below freezing, the unit may need help from a furnace or electric resistance coils. Factor in those add‑ons, along with routine maintenance, when you weigh the long‑term savings against the initial investment.
