"After giving us an estimate of two-three days for the completion of our project, Paul of Protect and Preserve prepared the walls in our laundry room, kitchen, and one wall in the master bedroom where repair was needed. Paul is a master at repair and preparation! The walls look fantastic. He touched up the trim and ran a bead of caulk along the top, giving it a "new" look. We've owned several homes and had lots of painting done for us. Paul of Protect and Preserve is by far the best we've ever used! A written proposal was prepared before the work began; we signed off on the contract when the work was completed. Paul left his materials in a neat manner when he was finished for the day and made sure we were happy with the results. We will continue to use his services and recommend him to all our friends."

"Our brick ranch house was in need of TLC on the old fiber board siding, which my wife and I have painted four times ourselves. We wanted to make the exterior maintenance free with a good quality vinyl siding. We contacted five separate companies, four of which were listed in Angie’s list, to get estimates. We chose The Home Improvement Co. They were neither the highest nor the lowest estimate. We based our decision on the reviews in Angie’s list, pictures of the work that had been accomplished on other jobs, and Matt’s straight forward honest presentation. Matt convinced us that one of the most important details of this work is an experienced crew that knows how to work with the material. We had chosen the insulated backed vinyl siding. The crew (Kevin and Rueben) and Matt arrived Friday and started the demolition on the west side of the house. We were having all the old siding removed and replaced with new board, moisture barrier, and the vinyl siding. They completed that side including cleanup in one day. The whole job was completed by the following Friday. The crew was great. They were friendly and professional, and they worked well together as a team. They answered any question we had and honored any request we made. They also wrapped all the windows and doors with aluminum coil. They transformed the exterior of our home. We are completely satisfied. We comment to each other every time we pull into the driveway how good our home looks now. We still plan on replacement windows and a new back door. "We heard from a mutual friend that Mike was looking to start up his window restoration & repair business again. They had a good experience with him a few years back. We recently purchased an older home which is not in a historic area, but which by age is "historic". We are looking to make improvements on the exterior before starting on the interior. So we are speaking to various contractors about window, siding and roofing. We want to maintain the character of the house. We have looked at vinyl windows, which would in many ways be a good choice, but they are just not the same as the windows we have, which are original. We asked Mike to come out and look at our windows. After looking at the windows, he showed us briefly what he had found, explained his restoration process and what we could expect. He said our windows restored to "as new" condition. And, with a good warranty. We received an estimate to restore all the windows; and, a separate price to restore those most in need of work. At the moment, we are weighing our options, but Mike was knowledgeable and thorough. We will be doing something w/ him in the Spring, once we have reviewed all out options and decided on a budget."

"John and his crew are very efficient, courteous, and easy to work with.  If you are looking for someone to get a lot of things done in a timely manner...then he's your guy. They came in like gang-busters and had everything done on our list within a day and a half. Overall we are very pleased with the results.  However, he did have to come back and finish repair on a storm door.  This visit seemed hurried.  It looked fixed when he left but still does not close properly. That is the only disappointment we have.
